Even if it was Serg/Point/1st/Foote, TBL wins the deal.

If Karlsson plays 70+ games on TBL next year, he's winning the Norris with a PPG of 1.10 or better. Book it.

If thats the deal then Ottawa wins the deal Point is likely to be a first line C , then you have Sergachev AND Foote? Sens fans will drive Karlsson out of the city if that was the deal.

If Sergachev is the center of the deal coupled with JT Miller. Than at least the Sens fill 2 holes in their squad. Top 4d and 2nd line center. Still would have wanted Point but can live with that trade.
Miller is a LW. although he can play C, you don’t exactly want him there

I think the Lightning probably could use another star forward more than another top pairing dman tbh. Not that Karlsson won't help but I think a forward would put them over the hump more. That's why I'm not so sure about them blowing their futures load on a dman even if it's one of the top guys in the league.

Then again, Washington's gonna be weaker and I doubt any other Eastern team is really good enough to challenge the Lightning unless the Leafs take a huge step.

Why is that?

I've seen him live a couple times and he never stands out to me more than the other guys on his line. His skating has always been a knock as well. With that being said, he's got good offensive instincts and actually kills penalties. I'm curious to see how he adjusts to the pros.

Yeah losing their 6th best defender and 4th line center really hurts the penalty kill but they're replaceable. I don't see Washington doing worse.

karlsson controls all three zones on the ice. he instantly boosts the offense of every forward he plays with

he is really really good
