Kasper and Danielson are pretty much Larkins though.

Funny thing is that most people wanted someone else over Larkin. What was his name? Fabbri

Should have drafted Honka like Jim Nill DOES EVERYTHING BETTER AT DALLAS !!!

DAMN, Honka was drafted before Larkin and we missed him. Larkin just falled to us.

I mean in terms of play style and traits... Kasper and Danielson are pretty similar types of players as Larkin.

They are all 6'1" and good skaters and competitive and play in the middle and play both sides of the puck.
There is only one problem. They are not skilled enough even compared to Dboss.

Well, DBoss spent one season in college and then put up 45 points in his first NHL season. If Kasper was doing the same there probably wouldn't be too many people complaining. Not to mention Larkin always had elite skating.
He put up those numbers on Zetterberg's wing, and he didn't come off knee surgery.
Wanna talk about Larkin's first season as a center?

Chances are Kasper is likely to be more like Veleno than Larkin.
He doesn't really look like either. He's someone who the opponent will hate playing against. Reminds me more if Marchand than any of those to be honest

To be fair, right now, Kasper doesn't look like he could put up 32 pts in a full schedule as NHL center or wing. I am being patient because he had a pretty big surgery and new country to deal with, but it also isn't super inspiring either.

You mean the season where he tied for 3rd on the team in goals, and had very few assists because his linemates sucked? Tats lead the team with 25 goals that season.

His injury was a fractured knee cap, probably didn't need surgery. He actually played on it for 50 minutes. It's not the same as a ligament tear which takes you out for 6 - 9 months, his injury was a 6 week injury.

Except Marchand had no issues scoring in the AHL. I'm worried Kasper's game won't translate to NA where players punch back. Plus Kasper doesn't have anywhere close to the hockey IQ the rat has.

Marchand was in the Q at Kasper's age.

I find it kind of wierd people complaining about the Wings being soft and dissing Kasper at the same time. He is the grittiest prospect we've had since I can remember, maybe Homer. His game is going to translate very well to NA.

At the end of the day they only care about points on their elite prospects page and not how they play hockey.

Yeah, Kane does have this "old Datsyuk" vibe. Good thing he is not relied on as much as Datsyuk who was at times the only skilled player on ice. Kane also has better teammates by far.

If the team makes the playoffs then I'm sure he will be re-signed. If they're out of the playoff picture at the deadline, a contender will pony up a decent haul for a healthy, point per game Kane at 50% retention which is only about 1.375 mil.

Dude is still unbelievably cool and calm and collected on the power play. He just sits there on the right side and makes the right read/pass/hold every time and makes the game look easy.

It's too bad he bumped Raymond off the top power play, but I get it I guess.

by moving larkin to the second with raymond and bring sprong up to the first, I love our powerplays and their dynamics.

I still wish seider would just set himself up a one timer every once in awhile. It's so annoying seeing all the space that he has up there last game and didn't take one chance on a clapper. It feels like he is trying to defer to kane and dbc more because of their abilities and skill, who can blame him, but I wish he would just slap one in once in awhile.
