Kid has become what I was hoping he would when I saw him as a gangly freshman at my alma mater (his first year playing defense).

The fact that he's doing it as a Ranger warms my heart. I was nervous when they drafted him because I wanted so badly for him to realize his potential and would've been devastated if he bombed.

No need to worry about that. The sky is the limit.

I also saw him play that year, I caught Wisco playing at BC that year. Sat in some real nice seats, and luckily it was in his defensive end on his side, right on the blue line. He was very raw but you could tell it was all there. His work ethic and attitude has been fantastic too.

Once he learns how much he can dominate truly, I think his persona as a player will change. I feel like there will be some nastiness unlocked. He's a beast out there.

The only way I see him even having a chance is if Fox is out due to injury for an entire season. Even then we'll probably see Gallant lean on Trouba strictly due to experience

There's no reason he can't be on the PP with Fox. He has a booming shot for the right dot/wall

no teams use 2 d-men on the PP. Besides Zib has a better shot from that position than anyone in hockey outside of like 2 or 3 guys
Most teams don't, but it has happened.

Zib is on the left side, so they could in theory have Miller play the same role on the right side. That might make the PP too dependent on those types of shots though, and therefore more predictable and easier to defend.

There's really no reason to mess with something that has worked so well for us. If the PP struggles, maybe they experiment with alternate personnel and strategies.

Position doesn't matter. If he's the best skill/talent to be utilized, he's the best choice.

Having a major threat on the opposite side of the ice opens it up for Zibs even more. Having multiple angles of attack is not a bad thing.

well I also don't think he has the skillset. I see him as a parayko type, but better skating

Yeah that's exactly right. There's really no scenario where Miller should be on the top PP unit or more than mop up duty on the 2nd PP unit. Which is fine, he doesn't need to be forced onto the PP just to fulfill some sort of Norris trophy fantasy.

Has a team ever had two Norris Trophy-winning players on the same roster? And playing together as a pair?

Ducks had Niedermayer and Pronger. Were Burns and Karlsson with the Sharks together?

I would have also guessed Devils while Niedermayer was there, but surprisingly Stevens never won the Norris.
