Getting stronger and heavier is one thing. But it won't do much if he can't protect himself better from forwards just finishing their checks. He doesn't roll with the hits or brace himself, it's like he's got no awareness he's about to get hit.

Whatever they worked on with Slaf for this, they need to do with Guhle.
Agreed but it won’t be so simple. Blueliners just naturally take more hits. It’s part of the gig. Especially if you’re a physical player like Guhle is.

I don’t disagree with your general point on him slowing down but it wasn’t that fast. In 2015 he was 3rd in Norris voting. He was one of the best players in the league. Started off on fire the following year too - until Price went down. And then he had his neck injury.
Yes he was, and he was also a monster in the 2017 POs, but he was still visibly a lot slower. He still adapted really well and turned into more of a static player, because he could with all that weight but he was nowhere near the skater he was prior to 2015. He was legit fast as lightning. Also sure that cardio played a role, being lean is better.

He puta himself in tough position. Yes, that was dirty hit, but he gotta learn to protect himself more. Haven’t seen any of our other dman take more punishement this year than Guhle. He seems to get killed once a game. He needs to get stronger and smarter in that departement.

I remember the first game of the season, he knows that Reaves is on the ice and that he’s coming in his corner. Guhle still turns around and expose his back to Reaves and Reaves buries him. Gotta learn who you playing against. That led to X vs Reaves fight.

what was he supposed to do? He can't skate backwards into the boards and try to make a play, it's up to the other player NOT to him him when he doesn't have the puck, and from behind. Guhle sometimes turns into the boards, this wasn't the case though. It was a dirty hit, and nobody seemed to care from the CH anyways

They should hire PK to give every dman the 101 on how to roll with the hits and avoid taking too much damage on puck retrievals, He was really good at it, one of the best ones I've seen at least.

It was dirty but Kucherov didn’t went that hard into him. Guhle just needs to stay alert and learned that when expose his back he might get hit. Always be on the edge.

Not a lot of players are built like him though. It helped that he was massive despite not being tall. Like Suzuki and Crosby, they just don’t fall.

When your back is to a player the entire time while you are attempting to retrieve and move a puck you are at your most vulnerable.
Kucherov throws a fairly violent shoulder into the numbers of a defenseless player.
Guhle hadn't turned yet the number was visible throughout the entire sequence.
Once you factor in the 190 lbs of moving force the result is exactly what you should expect to see.

One of the worst chicken shit hits I've seen in a long time. Someone needs to pay him back in kind to put a stop to it.
It's not the first time I've seen Kucherov get away with this shit.

I don't see it in this situation. However , it was clearly boarding, and the NHL has no idea when to call it for some reason. If that was anyone but Kuch, I know it's called a boarding penalty. That piece of shit gets away with whatever he wants, just look at his all-star game effort and shenanigans. However even more disappointing was the response, and lack of. Arbs getting ragdolled by a little smurf, then he yells at him from the box lol. I mean come on. Have the boys been told NOT to respond? Too funny. Pez? Andy? Anyone? WTF is going on?

You really gotta stop trying to prove that Guhle is soft, you look bad.

It was a chicken shit hit by a chicken shit player.

He will get stronger and he will learn. Not worried about that at all. Wish they would have said f*** winning this game and somebody just boarded Kucherov or threw a high hit on him.

But Pezzetta wasn't sent out and Anderson doesn't care anymore.

He’s weak and have a bad tendencies of putting himself in danger and getting drilled. He just needs to bulk.

Another example of Guhle putting himself in danger. He sees Reaves coming after him, and he still turns around and get drilled. Could have been ugly for him. He won’t stay healthy long if he doesnt learn and if he doesnt get stronger.

Guhle getting physically beaten while learning at the NHL level. And people want 160 lbs Hutson to come and play NHL D lol.

Nothing like this. Kucherov saw the numbers for a whole week and he decided to go for it.
