I'm also somewhat curious about what they are doing at practice. Early on in his tenure the media talked a lot about how his practices were very different from how other NHL coaches run their practices. I have a suspicion that we just don't spend as much practice time on the PP as other teams do, which does makes some sense for a rebuilding team that's more focused on development then scratching out a few extra wins here and there. The PP isn't a priority because winning isn't the #1 priority this season.Anybody watch practice? I wonder if they are trying it behind the scenes? It seems like a logical move to make due to how we are struggling but there has to be information we don't have. Why would someone like MSL not try it? Makes no sense
The only thing I can think about is they are trying to monitor their ice time as rookies
As for why Guhle and Xhekaj don't get much PP time, I think like with Slaf, they want to manage the level of responsibility and don't want to give them too much too soon. The idea being they focus more on their 5-5 game which will help them more long term. Not sure I fully believe that approach is the right one, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
