It was my opinion of him for one game. His coach also didnt use him much indicating he agreed with me of his play that game. He wasnt that good and that's fine. I've been a big fan of his selection at that spot.
TC have 4 D pairings, pairings 2-3-4 are playing pretty evenly...

He went through long stretches of the game esp in the third without touching the ice. When he finally got on the ice, his shift lasted 15 seconds or so.

Wish he was getting more ice time but for an 18 year old on D, on a stacked team Canada, can't complain. I'm often getting me confused between him and Harley, which should work out well for him considering Harley is a year older and imo doesn't really look like a better prospect.

In a game where you are outshooting your opponent by a huge margin, a shutdown guy doesn't really need to be out there much. He will get his time when the games are closer and the net needs protecting.

I'm hoping he turns out alot more than just a shutdown guy. It seems to be his role now but yet when the canadians were up by just two goals in the third, he still saw no ice time. So that counter argument doesn't work.

Nor should he be out there, he's one of the youngest D, he was never on the team for those reasons. You roll your top 4 in the final minutes, Ghule isn't at that level yet.

And that's perfectly fine and normal. I was pointing out what I had observed. No need to get very defensive of him.

Disagree. Harley looks really good out there. The confusion due to similar size isnt meaningful.

At this tournament, that's his role. Looking at the possession and shot clock, there was no need for him to be out there. His role on his junior team is more balanced. He certainly doesn't look out of place, has a couple of goals and the coaching staff has been complimentary. There is little to worry about and lots to be upbeat about when it comes to Guhle. It's not like he's busting hard like Caufield ;)

Not defensive, and I have no idea what his upside is either. I thought Juulsen would be a rock on this team by now, for example, so I call it wrong too.

Juulsen would probably be a regular right know if it wasn’t his many injuries so we can’t say that you where wrong thinking that (I taught the same thing)

Impossible to know. Juulsen was not destroying anything at the junior level. Even in his 3rd year. There is no indication that Juulsen would have not become another Brendan Guhle. Take the D's in that 2016-2017 year and quite a few guys had similar stats and similar style of play and didn't amount to anything NHL related so far like Cal Foote, Parker Wotherspoon, Conor Hobbs, or Brendan Guhle.

It's great to think that he could...but there are absolutely no indication that he would have.

2nd youngest D of the whole squad, 3rd youngest player overall. He's doing more than fine. Will be a rock next year....even if I would have taken Mercer ahead of him.

Things to work on....stronger on his lower body. Like most players. But if you play physical, you need to come on top. Also some IQ issues, reading the play better.

He was in the top 6 and was doing a good job before he got injured and beat Kulak/Mete/Ouellet/Folin(last year) is not a hard task

Define good job. He was okay. Just like tons of No6, No7 or No1 or No2 AHL'ers could be for a short period of time. Mete was doing fine too....and most want him out. Kulak is doing fine...until he doesn't and some wanted him out. Folin could do fine for 25 games too. Same for Ouellet. No offense to show for. How many players are we thrilled with for 50 games until we want to throw them in the garbage? Jiri Sekac was fine too etc....

Being fine for 30 games is NOT a testament enough to say that he surely would have made it if not injured.

Juulsen best percentage of time on ice per game was at 16:43 in 17-18. He's around the same type of numbers that Davidson, Jerabek or Schlemko got. Geez evenv Lernout had a 15 min average at one point....And I'm pretty sure you don't think all those guys were fine.

Yes, I know, Juulsen was young and could have improved. But some prospects also reach their ceiling sooner. And again, until he gets it going again, there's just no way to know.

Where did I say it was a sure shoot ? And he was still doing better then all those plugs and they would give him more opportunities on him being a former 1st rounder. He was playing 19:25 AAV his first year and 17:07 AAV his second year by the way I don’t know where you take your 16:23

I thought he would be a solid 4-5 character guy at best, but those darn injuries.

I'm really not defensive, think you are reading me wrong. I just think he's doing what is asked, and his limited time is understandable in a world class tournament like this.
