The Avs only risk losing guys like Donskoi or Burakovsky if EJ won't waive his NMC right?

After this recent concussion that's kept him out all year, it seems really unlikely Seattle would claim him.

If EJ waives, they can protect Nate, Mikko, Landy, Kadri, Burakovsky, Donskoi, and one of Jost or Nuke.

Expose Landeskog with a handshake deal to sign him at $7.85M/AAV for 7 years. Do not expose Jost or Nuke.

It’s unfair and unrealistic to expect Newhook to step into the 2C role. Everyone wants him to succeed but no way.

Just trade kadri in the offseason or at the draft for ‘22 pick and a 2/3c if someone bites

I can't imagine us winning 4 rounds without Kadri, seeing people casually saying that its addition by subtraction or that he should be suspended for the playoffs. Tyson Jost vs Draisaitl or Malkin or Kuzy/Backstrom or Cirelli lmao

Agreed. But it does raise the longer term question if it makes sense to trade him in the off season even if it means selling low. The answer depends on how and what you value him at and how you view the cost of keeping him.

Seems like the Avs aren't in much of a hurry to have that meeting. It's not like the plane doesn't have internet.

New theory: Bednar just doesn't want to give St Louis his roster until his usual 15 minutes before game time. :sarcasm:

What Kadri did was significantly worse than what Wilson did. And will be punished as such.

In what way? I get both are not something you want to see but I thought Wilson's was infinitely more mean spirited and ugly. What Kadri did was potentially more harmful but that is more based on the result rather than the act. What Kadri did was a dangerous hockey play but didn't look particularly malicious like Wilson's actions. If Wilson had ended Panarin's career but busting his head open on the ice everyone would agree Wilson's was worse, he got lucky and Kadri got a little unlucky with the result of his actions.

Can you imagine the Avs winning these match-ups WITH the Kadri we have seen this year? I certainly can't.

Wilson plays a very physical game, he's mean and a bully. Sometimes he gets caught in the heat of the moment and crosses the line.

Kadri doesn't play a physical game, he's not mean and doesn't do anything except whining at the refs. He has no excuse whatsoever to do that out of the blue. Let alone 3 times.

Holy overreaction. Not opposed to trading him, but he’s going to be protected.

I don't think it's an overreaction at all. I'd argue there are 7 forwards who are more valuable than Kadri on this team. Mack, Rants, Landy, Bura, Nuke, Jost, and Donskoi. Kadri may be better than a few guys on that list, but in terms of contract value, he shouldn't be protected over Nuke and Jost. If the Avs want to protect that 8th forward (Kadri), the handshake deal with Landy makes sense. Then Seattle would almost guaranteed take one of JTC or Graves, which would really help the cap situation.

So after seeing more replays it does look like he targets the head. Now I think there are a couple of angles which can deem it as inconclusive, but there’s too much evidence for the DoPS to use. Whatever will happen though, the DoPS will most surely make it an f***ing clown show as they made “categories” so it could prevent Wilson from getting his 30 game deserved ban. I do think Kadri should be given the same defence as Wilson and judged accordingly to a similar aspect they gave Tommy. Plus he hasn’t been suspended for eighteen months and I argue didn’t maliciously target the head for the purpose of getting Faulk out of the series. For sure he deserves games because his timing was absolutely atrocious and that’s the type of hit they want out of the game. But it’s going to be the double standard rubbish we should all be expecting and will probably be gone for half of the entire playoffs.

Holy. It's easy to tell that there are a lot of new fans in this forum. That or people don't remember that Claude Lemieux, Adam Foote, Rob Blake, even Peter Forsberg used to be a part of this team. I'm not saying Kadri doesn't deserve a suspension but put the pitchforks away. All of those guys threw a lot more egregious hits than Kadri did and they are all still celebrated to this day. Naz made a mistake and missed his angle. He doesn't need to be jettisoned from this team or exposed in the XD for it. Everyone needs to calm down. My guess is he gets suspended for the remainder of the series and then comes back for the second round looking to redeem himself. We probably won't see the Kadri of last year's playoffs but he will be more towards that than he has been this year. Everyone take a breath and relax.

He is gone for this series. That´s for sure. They give him 5. If we gonna end this series earlier, he´s gone sit at least 1-2 games in Round 2.

Make no mistake, he deserves to sit for that. No problem with it.

The damage to Perros and his fellows is allready made! When they really throw the book at Kadri and suspend him, say, for the rest of the playoffs (yeah, i know, unlikely), but let Wilson sucker punch Buchnevich and wrestle Panarin, one of the league superstars, 2 weeks earlier und give him 5.000 Dollar fine, well, that looks brutal on them (it allready has, but man...)

Kadri could get the "Statement" they missed on Wilson.

I see it as it being a different game back in those days. I wouldn't compare the kind of shit that was happening then with the way the game is played now considering the advances in knowledge and research dedicated to head trauma. I saw all those players that you mentioned and still recall fond memories of watching them when I was a kid yet I still agree that Kadri deserves to have the book tossed at him and consider what he did to be unacceptable.
