In the 5 games since Bonino was sent down, Kakko is tied for the NYR lead with 4 points at 5v5, 3rd in shots at 5v5, and 3rd in xGF%

I mean Bonino was clearly and obviously hampering that line offensively
Aside from the poor start to the season, I think a big reason they’re down is no Chytil. Those two fed off each other a lot, and although Brodzinski is playing his ass off, Chytil between Cuylle and Kakko would be a whole other ballgame.Glad KK got his goal. Even though I joked about his assist total I think his assists will go up if he keeps shooting. Shots on net will led to both goals and rebounds. Keep it going
Getting there. Still a little too methodical developing a play, but getting there.Like Maloney said on the radio he's doing things a bit quicker. Getting pucks to the net.
Confidence. He’s still developing.Like Maloney said on the radio he's doing things a bit quicker. Getting pucks to the net.
Well, before tonight Kaapo was at 1.3 P/60 (his career low) while Zegras is at 1.2 P/60 (by far his career low as well) and the rest of Zegras’ game is not even in the same league as Kakko’s. Sure ANA would not make a straight up trade, but then again neither would I. I think Kakko is the overall more effective and valuable player going forward, though he will never be as flashy. Or as overrated. If Ducks want him for Zegras, it’s them who will have to add now
funny. when i saw the goal on the post game, i said to myself "that's the kid i thought we drafted". hope he can keep it up, he's doing a lot of good thingsHopefully the way he scored tonight helps him trust his shot more at this level.
If only Lavy could figure out an easy way to fix the problem of Kakko not getting on the ice, with a guy who has been terrible being on the ice too much. Something really glaring and obvious.Really inexcusable for him to play 12:21 when Goodrow is getting 15 minutes.
Agreed. Its not poor development, its impatience with the fan base. How many of you were killing it at their jobs at 21-23- and im not talking about at popeyes- i mean a professional job.Ive been hard on Kakko (and many of the kids at points) but they all are finding their roles. I never liked the poor player development narrative. Look back at the players we took during the rebuild and many have become lineup regulars with more on the way. To outsiders Kakko looks like a bust but to me I see him filling a role we have been searching since Fast left. No necessarily the chem with Panarin but a guy who makes things happen in the NZ and below the goal line at even strength. Plus he can play a little mean on the ice with Cuylle. I want to see Kakko play with the Scandinavian edge more. Im starting to see it more consistently
1000%. Sick of the ignorance- people like flashy names.Well, before tonight Kaapo was at 1.3 P/60 (his career low) while Zegras is at 1.2 P/60 (by far his career low as well) and the rest of Zegras’ game is not even in the same league as Kakko’s.
