To paraphrase Jack Nicholson, out of Kappo Kaako, A Lexus Lafreniere and Fill Up Chytil, we still have two of them working for us, and that ain't bad.

As I've said before, i think he will end up playing in Europe somewhere.
What, why do u think Kakko wants to play in Europe? You think he's not good enough to play in this league? I'll try and meet you half way by saying let's see what happens.

Even with a bum shoulder, he hasn't played bad hockey. He's not a liability out there. He's just not putting up the points yet, but despite where he was selected in the draft, he's still a young man getting used to the NA game. It wouldn't hurt if he got more power play time either. Just to get him handling the puck more. When u got Fox, Zib, Panarin, Strome, and Kreider out there on the pp, you're just not going to get much of an opportunity.

As in he can’t hang in the NHL and has to go play in Europe?

Give me a break, enough with the hyperbole. I’d bet my life savings Kakko is an NHLer for a long time. He’s only 20 and even tho the stats aren’t there he’s already a solid middle 6 winger who plays a good 200 ft game. He’s struggled to put up numbers commiserate with his draft status but he’s nowhere near being relegated to playing in Europe. Like not even in the same stratosphere of that happening.

When healthy, he could easily take Strome's spot and make the PP better.

Hell yes! Bottoms up. Unless he's playing in Europe next season.

Strome isn't as useful to pp1 now that he's playing the bumper with Panarin moving to the right, but I don't care much about pp1 right now. We have bigger issues.
I think Laf does better in that spot than Kakko. laf has a better shot from distance and works with the puck much quicker. Kakko needs to control a pp unit which he can’t do on that pp.

The Rangers have the #4 PP in the league.
The Rangers have the #2 PP in the league since January 1.
The Rangers have the #1 PP in the league over the last month.

Maybe we should stop trying to change the unit?
Especially when the proposed move is to put a LH shot in the bumper, which would likely hurt more than help with the way the Rangers have their PP set up.

I know it might seem crazy but I think that unit is even better with a strong shot on the left wall.

Strome has certainly proven himself to be a decent option, but he is definitely the improbable piece. He currently sits at 9 power play points compared to everyone else on that unit with 20+.

Ultimately I think Lafreniere is the best option, but I’d probably try a healthy Kakko there for a while as well.

Hopefully he's been nursing something because he was good for a bit

I think he's been nursing something since the end of the last season when he went hard into the boards, and his season ended. Those are the injuries that can knock the system out of order. He had something that got aggravated in the game against the Habs at the start of the season, then he pushed himself back too soon. Recall the presser where he was adamant he was "ready", but at the time Gallant was a little doubtful. Hope they sort it out once and for all now and don't let him come back until he is 100%, even if I'm sure he wants to play because it's an important contract year for him and he wants to prove himself.
