Any word on our boy? The new regime sure keeps a tight lid.

Can't reveal anything beyond this but I heard KK is having surgery tomorrow and it's a 6–8-week projected recovery.

My guess is it's the shoulder. He had that med pack on it in every postgame interview since the original injury.

Not good for the kid and would hate to see him out that long, but if true, this is almost a relief in that there was something very wrong he was trying to play through, because his game fell off big time.

Obviously all speculation at this point but if its 6-8 weeks that would take him anywhere from 10-18 games remaining in the season.

Regardless of when in that timeframe he would come back, it would be after the deadline. If the Rangers reinforced the right side (all the more important now, if this is true) he would be looking at 3rd line minutes to ease back into it before playoffs.

So he wasn't even near 100% and they played the kid night after night! That's extremely neglegent, and idiotic, especially when u had to know it's something chronic. So now I guess we can all see what Chytil is really made of as a right wing, playing with bread and Strome. We lose a guy for the rest of the season because of incompetence. Hopefully it is speculation and this here post is bs, but week to week, you knew it had to be serious. No player should be out there nursing injuries and trying to play through them best he can.

If true, why the f*** didn’t he get the surgery at the start of this two week break? What are we doing here?

If true, its likely one of those "see if rest will heal it" things before surgery, which is the usually last resort. Dont need to go under the knife unnecessarily, especially at such a young age.- and it keeping him out an additional 6-8 instead of just the break they knew was coming up.

We also dont know exactly what his issue is. It may have felt better - or maybe Kakko lead them on to believe it was feeling better. Maybe none of the scans showed anything that required surgery...

We cant assume it is negligence on the Rangers part, and we are talking about a rumor right now. They work with some of the best doctors in the world so I would assume they are receiving sound advice.

We are 150 games into Kakko's career now. With all his potential and underlying stats, he's produced a point about every 3 games. What do you think his next contract is going to look like? I can't see why he would get more than $3M/year on a 2 year deal. Looking to see what other people think.

At the very least, he had the injury at the beginning of the season. During whatever time he came back and started icing his shoulder, he should have been taken out of the lineup then, before it turns to an acute problem, making matters worse.
