So wait, he still may have had that rumored surgery?

Vince asked GG but he refused to say yes or no about any operation, or give any info about the nature of the injury. Weird.

They didn't hide Blais had ACT surgery, but that was quite obvious. Dallas didn't say what was wrong with Roope Hintz last season when he was playing on bad groins either. That only became clear when he had his operation in the summer.

I hope he is taking/has taken the opportunity to get skating in and work on a couple of things.

Is there a chance Kakko is out for even longer then we think? Like until playoffs maybe?odd we’ve heard almost nothing about his injury, or an update about his status?

The difference with Blais is he was ruled out for the season. That isnt the case with Kakko.

I guess there is some protection factor that goes into it, in addition to maybe following some kind of HIPPA law or players union agreement.

I always thought it was loosely based on trying to prevent some other goon from targeting the injury / weakness. Which if this case, is a larger issue in the NHL we dont hear about.

I've never really heard of this happening - at least in the last couple of decades - I mean its not like we hear about other players (other than a handful like that POS Marchand) purposely going for hits to the head on guys wearing full fask masks with wired jaws and targeting obvious injuries and shit.

But the other question is what would the Rangers gain by divulging the injury to fans/media? Not much of anything except more questions, exaggerated speculation and doubt of a players readiness once they return.

Best to keep it secret. Keep it safe.

They hide everything. Gallant says he won't announce starting goalies. They don't announce injuries. They won't explain the reason for scratches. It's the leagues fault. Not the team. Come out with a mandatory injury list with specified more designations and time frames. Require lineups to be posted x hours before game time like they are in Football with the inactive report.

u do realize football does that solely because of gambling.

i dont understand why people need to have this information. Does it suck we dont know, yes. But there is no benefit to giving out the info to the team.
Im surprised that more teams dont do the same.
