Credit where it’s due.

I never understood why Babcock sat him an entire season, but Holl has been outstanding, and much better than I imagined he could be.

good to see him finally get his chance and is really running with it.

Attaboy Justin!

Didn't Babcock bench him for a long time after he scored goals in his first two NHL games or something? Or am I thinking of someone else?
He was sent back to the Marlies after scoring goals in his first two games and that was during the 2017-18 Season, since he was called up due their other Defenseman being injured.

Babcock made him a healthy scratch for 71 games during the 2018-19 Season.

Babs: I need a big, righthanded, shutdown defenseman Kyle!

Holl: *Waves*

Babs: No not you.

I hope babcock never coaches another game in the NHL; what a self important prick

on a more relevant note...Holl is a freaking stud

Holl is playing like a STUD and gets zero mention of hype, unreal.

I am pretty happy with the D this year

Holl improved
Brodie has been great
Bogo surpassed expectations
Dermott has been better (small sample)
Lehtonen looks better every game
Sandin was ok in a tiny sample (needs playing time)
Reilly looks to be getting groove back
Muzz the same as Reilly

For the expansion draft, I think we go 4F/4D, and protect Holl. Leave Andersen and Hyman unsigned on expansion draft day, even if we do plan to re-sign them before free agency opens. Then Seattle will take Dermott, who’s a good player too, but we have way less need for him, with Rielly/Muzzin/Sandin at LD.

Holl has become exactly the player we’ve needed for years, we gotta protect him at the expansion draft.

I could watch that goal from tonight all day long.

Middle of the ice...just above the top of the circle...and hammers a rising rocket over the shoulder, top shelf on who I think is the best goalie in the game.

Love it.

Hammer Time 5v5

on-ice SV% .924

When he's on the ice he gets a point on 36% of Leafs goals.

At this point, I wouldn't even pay Seattle to not pick Dermott, as much as I like him. Theres just too many bodies on the blue line and Sandin/Lehtonen are more than capable of replacing him. Its inevitable that someone has to go.

I would do a lot to keep Dermott including trading their late first and second round pick to Seattle. This kid is going to be really good and he fits.

Really starting to like Holl. They are going to need him when they can’t afford to keep Reilly

I love the goal and it’d be great if he did that more often, but the play on Tafoli where he cut him off and drove him into the end boards was a thing of beauty.
The guy can prevent McDavid from cutting in front of the net so most guys have no chance.
