Where would you prefer Slaf spend his 23-24 season?

Wright had 2 measly goals in 24 AHL playoff games with Coachella last year. If anyone has uber-high bust potential, it's Shane "ManChild" Wright. Couldn't happen to a better guy...
This is so petty lmao. Juraj and Shane Wright have exactly the same PPG in the NHL. Last year, Wright had 2 points in 8 games and was sent down because he was deemed unfit to play in the NHL.

What does that say about Juraj and his 2 points in 13 games ? Last year, Juraj had 2 points in his first 8 games.

Literally, these two players are so close its ridiculous to try to draw a line, do better.

Lol. Here we go again.
Wright sucks. Cooley too small. Michkov small and cocky. Nemec too soft.
They don't know about the Czechian chad tho.

The possibility of trading the pick to move down and grab assets must've been pretty real if someone paid a 14th to get rid of Dach and Cat for the 7th overall. Literally any combination of asset+ players drafted until the 7th overall would be worth more than Slaf today.

Your posts are so anti-Hab I usually don't bother replying as I think you're just trolling. But I'll humor myself. Let's start with this...please tell me, how many games did you watch Shane Wright play since his draft year? I watched almost all his CHL playoff games, most of his Kraken games, and almost all his AHL playoff games...my guess is you may have watched the odd Kraken game, at most. So, it is your response that is so "petty lmao".

He absolutely sucked. I was shocked to see how meh he was in the CHL playoffs, 'cause I thought we'd pick him for sure. Then that switched to relief that we didn't after watching him with Seattle and Coachella. However, having said that, I don't pick my spots and I don't practice splitting (black or white thinking). IE, I am objective. I have watched several Coachella games this year, and he looked much better than the player I saw last year. Credit where credit is due. But he's still like over 100th in AHL scoring...and Seattle only used him for a shade over 4 min his first NHL game this year. Slaf is multitudes ahead of Wright at this point, and it's not even close.

Didn’t Columbus just assign him to the ahl?

None of this matters. Both players suck and your post was clearly not objective, lol.

In a world where Slafkovsky should clearly be in the NHL, why does it matter ? Lol. Shouldn't we be patient ? Shouldn't we wait 5 years before passing judgment ? Don't big guys take a long time to develop ?

Its tough to follow, really.

Not objective? I actually watched the guy play...a lot. You never answered my question as to how much you watched him play. And you're saying I'm not objective? Wow...the narcissistic indicators are sky-high. Now I am now convinced you're trolling...cya.

Don't you see the issue where you claim "If anyone has uber-high bust potential, it's Shane "ManChild" Wright. Couldn't happen to a better guy..." ? You attack his character directly, twice. You claim he had two goals, in a thread where a game has done nothing either statistically.

Both players are tracking very poorly, you trying to split the two in two different camp is inherently biased.

Why does it matter? I keep reading it’s the wrong pick, how other picks were better, that it was off the board. So far, the reality has been that the 2022 draft hasn’t really showed rewards for any top player drafted.

I don’t think it will take 5 years to pass judgement, but Slaf hasn’t really played 82 nhl games yet, so right now it IS too early. Considering the draft class’ performance in total right now, it just reinforces that it’s too early to say anything at the moment.

On the whole, I think Slaf has played well this season. Not all of that has translated to points, but I do find he’s buzzing more than not. He has a bad stretch of 4-5 games, but turned it around.

We’re all starved for a star and it plays into our patience, but really, it’s way too early to tell what’s going on. There has been a lot of positives though and I’m not concerned yet.

Trolling is hopping on an account with barely any posts that’s 20 years old to flex seniority that doesn’t help you in anyway prove a very weak argument that you seemed to be saving for a rainy day which this isn’t.

All players drafted in 2022 have knocks on them. Some or most Top-2022 players might be very good one day but they have much work to do

Wright and Slaf’s scoring in the pros has been abysmal. I know they’re 19, but they both suck in a vacuum. But they produce so poor results in different ways.

Shane Wright just can’t physically get to the slot because he doesn’t want to get decked. So he needs to shoot from the periphery. The only time he looks decent is in a 4 on 4 situation.

Slaf can easily get to the slot but usually doesn’t because he seemingly prefers the pure joy of skating with the puck without a purpose…. Despite his best efforts not to, Slaf sometimes ends up with the puck in the slot like Thursday. If Slaf had Wright’s finish he would have scored.

Yes.
But I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about typical bashing of other team's picks while ours shine like the sun on the ice,

So it's OK for "fans" to bash our picks and praise other picks blindly? You were pitching Cooley like he was some sort of phenom NHL star putting up points with lousy teammates. I countered that showing you the box scores for all his goals, which showed he got most of his points on PP1 with their very best players, and you opted not to respond. Seems you're the one hell-bent to blindly bash our players while blindly praising other teams' picks.

Good. Now count Slaf's this year's box scores.
There are plenety of data, isn't it?

I'm not the one with the fixation on stats. I was simply countering your (incorrect) comment that Cooley was racking up points playing with chumps while Slaf was not also playing with chumps. Maybe watch DSL's great video analysis. His overall opinion is pretty much exactly like mine. And I'm not worried about points if I see other things I believe show he's developing fine. Which I do. And so does David from what I can tell.

I also think Cooley may become a fine player. Not so much re Wright. And I haven't watched Nemec enough to give an opinion. I don't throw around opinions based on smoke and mirrors.

Yes, I’m no expert but I would figure commentary as the games pass and new information comes to light makes one seem more invested and less alien to a a topic.

For instance at Game1 of the season we were told to have an impression of Slafkovsky’s career that turned out to completely different by Game10 then came Game 11 and now Game 13, wild swings in his stock if I do say so myself.

Things happen (all too rarely for Slafkovsky, the player, but every passing game is a data point for Slafkovsky the development project) and we discuss it. I think it doesn’t matter if someone calls him a bust but if you’re very upset by those claims, and those making the claims, you can ignore them. There are plenty of other statements and discussions to chew on.
Yea, I understand

I'm just trying to advocate for some patience.

Listen, I was a little frustrated by some or the negative commentary, only because it's so early. He's our guy and I don't want to smother him. Let's give him a chance. I guess I'm a little to invested also 😄

We all want him to succeed. It would be a blessing to see him succeed.

The thing with preaching patience is that it is done in defence of rushing him to the NHL where he is putting up “worst top drafted forward in modern NHL history” numbers.

To most of us this is mind-boggling. Others think it’s no big deal and see some bigger picture where this will all work out. I’ve been a miserable Habs fan for long enough to know not to expect anything good to happen when they don’t seem like they’ll happen.
