Where would you prefer Slaf spend his 23-24 season?

I was pumped to see him there, never bought into the 'he doesn't deserve it' nonsense, he's our first 1OA and deserves the chance for that reason.
As I said earlier, the line he was on made no sense. Needs to play with talent.

Secondly, we tried others on the first and it didn’t work so why not try this? It makes no sense to make him “earn it.” Put him there and let our best players help him develop.

Third, we can always send him down if he falters. But they have to give him ten to fifteen games to show what he can do. If they just switch it up then it makes no sense.

Look what happened with CC. He was put on the first line and produced immediately. Hopefully this move gets Slaf going a bit.

The Suzuki line just had by my reckoning the best possession game they've had in a while. I really don't think that's a coincidence.

I hope he becomes that perfect compliment to the Suzuki Caufield duo and I think we saw the first glimpse of it tonight.

I agree. If you're going to try and force a highly drafted young player to develop in the NHL, stick him with talent. I feel like I remember Brady being stapled to Stone's side for most of his rookie year.

With Dach going down and the refusal to move Monahan from the vet line, the second line ceased being a good option for Slafkovsky. Glad they saw sense and gave him an audition before potentially sending him down. First game is good, but even if the next 2-3 aren't they need to leave him there for a proper chance.

Graduating a player at 18-19 and then sticking him on a 3rd or 4th line while playing a tertiary role, is a Montreal Canadiens staple.

Lots of edited “delete” posts in the last few pages. Makes you wonder. I wish these haters would stand on their shit takes, but all it takes is one goal and they start scrubbing their posts lmao. Typical HFBoards.

Trying to hear all the negative comments about Slaf tonight, I seem to be deaf.

I definitely have one of those edited post tonight. If you're curious I posted about the Habs not playing with the lead for a long ass time, which was destined to the GDT obviously, shit happen.

At least with Kotkaniemi it was more understandable because there was playoff hopes with Price. We're rebuilding so it was mind boggling when Slaf had played twice over 15 mins and never over 16 1/2 in a game until tonight.

One game.

Glad it was good. Glad MSL finally put him with talent. Let’s see how it plays out.

Also, let’s leave ‘haters vs fanboy’ stuff at the door please.

Happy for the big man that he got a goal, played a good game and most importantly got away from newhook and anderson

The Suzuki line was good for a rare game this year, and Slaf was part of the reason why.

That why he was drafted because on top of the physical package and skills, he was the best complement to a CC and Suzuki.
