Where would you prefer Slaf spend his 23-24 season?

Such thin skin for such strong opinions lol
Thin skin ? I just don't like wasting my time when you know full well what i meant. It's useless.

You have no argument so you resort to asinine tactics to cop out.

i dont even mind the slaf pick , this development is ridiculous tho.

the organisation is so dumb its embarassing. Same mistake with KK.

Not to mention unlucky , picking a 50 point forward at 1st overall in a weak draft would sting less if the year after we didn't miss on 3 2023 forwards who would be unanimous first overall in 2022 ( bedard , leo , fantili, 3 centers at that. We simply cannot have nice things. Would slaf even go over Michkov if he was in the 2022 draft?

These are the cards we were dealt , are we unlucky? or dumb?
On draft day I said Id have Slaf around 9, which is right behind Wood, who I think is a slightly better prospect and Smith.

Kent won't, because that will verify he and his scouting staff are as inept as Bergy and his homies. This crew is just as tight as the last one, there will be no accountability for failed draft picks and development.
The thing is Kent said on draft day that Slaf was a raw project. After showing he can barely keep his head out of water and is just surviving in the NHL, why not give your "raw project" a chance to figure it out in a lower but still very competitive league? I don't get it.

Now that I think about it though, I think they might actually be scared he doesn't perform in the AHL too. That would make them look even worse than Slaf failing at the NHL level.

they are 100% worried to send him down and have him fail there too

He was part of the worst draft class in NHL's history. I've heard some of the other draftees from 2022 are so bad, that they can't even breathe on their own. Can you believe it, there are teams buying iron lungs from old polio hospitals because their shit first round picks are too f***ing dumb to figure our how that inhale-exhale-shit works. To be out there among real hockey playing men is an achievement one shouldn't take for granted.

Can't wait to see him touching the puck more often, skating with energy and getting on ice after lines change.

If you take his first game and his 48th games, the improvements is big. Would i oppose a stint in the AHL, no. Would i be mad if he stay in NHL? No, since theres improvement!

Any model saying that Slaf has looked good is worthless. He hasn’t.

Obviously, he has 11 points in 50 games. Where does that rank in terms of percentile on a 3 year weighted average?

Nobody need a pretentious worthless model to reach a conclusion on that.

It still does not neglect what he is doing good and it still does not give any indication into his future, as those model are just ranking percentile via past data.

Look up irony... Time waste indeed

& to your 2nd point...

Your poor takes in this thread and incessant doubling down on them epitomizes "weak argument". Resorting to flawed accusations of semantic games highlights that.

Carry on, I'm sure your time is better spent posting more useless complaints

He had a good preseason (ppg) and a very good first game. However, 1 point in 8 games and just surviving out there. I thought he earned his spot this year, but the arguments against him being in the NHL are only getting stronger. What's the harm in sending him down ? There's a great line he could be added to in Laval that would really help his confidence and creativity. Haven't they learned their lesson from KK, Kakko and Lafreniere ?

Slaf's level of play doesn't (and shouldn't) depend on Dach.
A teenager is going to be greatly helped by players who can do some of the heavy lifting. Pairing them with strong players makes sense. That is development 101.
He's just bad out there right now, regardless of who else is on the ice.
No he’s not. People are overblowing things as usual.

That being said, I fully support him going to the AHL. He’s clearly not generating points. And for that reason I think it absolutely makes sense to send him down. But it’s not like he hasn’t created chances, he has. But I think he’d get a lot more out of going to the AHL and dominating. I felt a that way before the season but he looked so good with Dach, I felt like it might work. But now, I absolutely support him going to the AHL.

No it doesn't, losing Kirby means he can no longer be a passenger on that line that gets few points here and there. Slaf was the weak link on that line too. It's not just the lack of production, he is constantly behind the play. He's in the wrong league.
He wasn’t a passenger. They looked great together. Now it’s… Josh Anderson and Newhook. Not going to work.

Can someone enlighten me as to why the Habs are keeping this kid in the NHL when he clearly doesn't belong there?
I expected more sane strategy from Hughes and Gorton.

No it isn’t. He looks every bit as bad this year as last.

He was a passenger. Dach could probably bounce a dozen a year in off him, it still won’t make him a good player at this moment.

He needs to go down, he does not belong in this league and never has.

Poor Slaf has to go play the guy we should have drafted :(

I hope Kent feels nothing but pain watching Cooley dance around the ice, I hope his scouts suffer the sadness of watching another failed draft pick go by while the fans cringe everytime Slaf falls down and they bring up his Olympic stats and cooking skills to make the team feel better.

Good times, maybe @OldCraig71 will stay awake for the first period or something.

What are the odds you don’t say a word and delete your post if the inverse happens?

I just hope that someday I meet a lady who treats me as well as you treat Slafkovsky.
