I meant when he was trying to fight. Certainly you're not going to argue that he was even remotely competent when he tried to tough it up?

He was never a good fighter. That he was willing to drop 'em at times, even if he knew he was looking at a beating doesn't make me think any less of him. It's not like he's been trying to be the tough guy. He's stepped up when he basically had to.

I don't care about his fights. I care about his shot blocking, penalty killing, physical play and shut down defense.

I wouldn't have given him the "bigger role" he wanted, but I certainly would have loved to be able to keep him on the fourth line.

I'm not knocking the Glass signing until I see him play for us. I trust AV to know what he's doing and how to properly utilize the personal he has. Sather mentioned that each player has a role, so I'm sure Glass was well informed that he wasn't going to have a serious role other than be a 4th liner. I couldn't care less about his fighting ability because that's not the type of team we are anymore. As long as he can create havoc behind the opposing net by pinning the opposing d in deep while Moore and, whoever else the other 4th liner is, cycle I'll be happy. I'm not expecting him to play 20 minutes a night. I understand his possession numbers are garbage, but I'm not judging him negatively until I see him play for us. Like -31- mentioned in his article before, his contract is very manageable to move so I'm not too worried about it.

More importantly, people mentioning how much worse this team is, remember we now have our core players who now have a full year in AV's system. The players know the knew system, so the beginning of the season shouldn't be as much of a defensive **** show as it was in early October. We also have also have Stepan, Kreider, Zucc, McD, Hagelin, and Brassard coming off good years and we should expect even more from them. Plus, we have a full year of MSL, which could do wonders this offseason with other players training with him in the offseason and preseason.

Just wait and see what happens before you all freak out. I understand the center depth is a glaring issue, but it's July 3 and that can still be addressed. Remember, some of you were ready to BLOW this entire team up and completely rebuild in October/November, and look how that ended up working out. We are still in a good position to succeed in the Eastern Conference.

I feel like we got robbed. Four quality players gone, in comes a gramp and a goon.

It's gonna be a great season with a bunch of kids in the lineup, McD as captain and Nash changing diapers.

I'll eat my socks if we reach the playoffs.

If Nash is changing diapers, then who's gonna change Nash's diaper?

Who is -31-?

Do you promise to actually do this?

Best case scenario is that Skjei decides to turn pro after this weeks development camp and is able to earn a spot (and play well once the season starts). They would be able to move Staal or Moore for offensive help. Preferably move Staal for a young center.

If the Rangers think Skjei is ready for at least 3rd pairing minutes they could move Moore in the off season, but there wouldn't be any real cap savings there.

He's going back to Minnesota...

Gopher Hockey defenseman Brady Skjei has confirmed he will return to the University of Minnesota for his junior season in 2014-15.

The Lakeville, Minn., native is currently participating at the New York Rangers Prospect Development Camp at Madison Square Garden Training Center and informed the National Hockey League (NHL) organization of his decision on Thursday

It's not hard to see what someone has changed their name from lol

its not hard...but why is it necessary? and when ppl change their names and their avatars, its even harder to figure out who is who.

ive had the same avatar and name for like a decade.

i'm a brand biznitches :)

Yeah, not sure why you should be able to even change your name. It's like the forum's own witness protection program. lol

Well I don't know if I could fully rock the Brian Boyle moniker with him in Tampa.

Jared's throwing caution to the wind on that front.
