Player Discussion JT Miller Thread

I just find it funny all last year people were trashing Horvat saying he wasn't a good Captain and Miller should be. Now a few games into this season Miller is being absolutely trashed by those same fans.

Don't get me wrong he deserves the criticism but the quickness of the complete turn is pretty funny. I actually can't wait to see how this all ends. Its like a Mexican soap.

I don't think you're specifically talking about me... but if you were I've been very steadfast in my support of Horvat and equally in support of trading Miller.

It wasn't directed at you in any way, it was more commenting on other posters, going off of what you said. You are just one of the posters I like to interact with.

If Horvat leaves I don’t see anyway you don’t give the C to Pettersson unless you don’t think he’s going to be here long term.

Kind of agree with you but I also think they have plans for Hughes and could see them wanting to bank on him. I think it'll either be Pettersson or Hughes who get it next. It's a symbol for fans at this point of the game. Who wears the C doesn't reflect who the players view as the leader anymore.

I was listening to Jamie McLennan talk about some players who he played with or knew who are really good at hockey and who like everything around being a hockey player (ie money, etc) but don't like the game, hate playing and i thought this fits Jt Miller to a T.

Yeah it's Steve Dangle, ultra leafs homer, but this was funny:

"If you're a player on the Canucks and Miller has the puck in your own end, it's your job to skate over to him, stick lift and take it away. It will be better for your team if you do. I've never seen a forward so bad in their own end."

Starts around 52 min mark.

Punishing him does not make me feel any better.

Pumping up his value and shipping him off would. What ever that looks like.
It's not about making anyone feel better, it's about accountability and becoming a real hockey team again. Everyone on this team has to see that JT Miller's play is un****ing-acceptable.

Also, Dangle absolutely crucified JT in his podcast which has cratered his trade value. Nobody wants a 7m dollar emo in their locker-room.

We have to have accountability if we want to move forward in any meaningful way.

1.We sit him.

2.Our players... see accountability.

3. ???????

4. Profit

Is that about it?

Steve Dangle has zero effect on a players trade value.

Nah man.

No profit.

Just hockey played the right way.

Not this div 2 pond hockey bullshit we're currently seeing.

You treat JT like you treat any other forward that did the exact same thing.

This year is lost.

This group wont ever amount to anything.

I dont care to try to heal the locker room.

Bruce is gone at the end of the season, probably earlier. So I dont care about his integrity to this group.

Just make Miller worth something in a trade and ship him the f*** out. (amongst other future looking trades)

Fair enough.

I just want to see good hockey again.

I just think if you don't give it to Pettersson in Horvat's absence, you're basically inviting him to leave.

i love that this kinda sentiment is now being expressed by the blue checkmarks as well at this point, under the same banner as the team’s broadcasts

I think going with a group of assistants for a while is the best way.

Its so weird to have Dangle voice my feelings on Miller.

Have Dimitri on the PDO Cast call for a proper rebuild.

Have Quads on Canucks Conversations wonder if we should trade Demko.

Maybe its finally going to happen..?

The exact problem with Miller's mindset/emotions have been shared by other fans of both Tampa and NY before he was traded. He is still the same guy he was back then but people kept being blinded by his "Leadership".

He's always been the same player, just because you sign him to a big contract won't change how he plays.

Given how the team's been ran for the last decade, I doubt we'll see anything close to even tolerable hockey for another decade.

Its not the Stanley Cup at the end...

The real treasure was the friends we made along the way.

You know, Lovecraft was right. We humans are happy because we view reality behind the veil of our limited senses. If we pierce through the veil and see things the way they truly are, most of us will become irreversibly insane in an instant.

For us Orca fans, irreversible insanity is replaced by eternal depression.

Anyways, here's a video of a bunny sleeping in someone's hand

trying not to let this happen but fearing the worst given the totality of everything canucks and real world between about 2016 and now

You sound like Robert Olmstead, the main character of Shadow Over Innsmouth, in the beginning of the story.

Near the end of the story, he resigned to his fate.

We Orca fans are literally doing the best NHL re-enactment of Lovecraft's work.
