Playing out of this world rn.
I wanted Bo over him but honestly it’s not even close rn, dude is amongst the best in the league atm.

Never thought I’d consider an 8mil cap contract a bargain. That’s really something

Honestly, most GM's would unload their picks and prospects for JT right now. He's the players all GM's drool over.

Built like a OX, Mean, Hits, Fights, PP, PK, Scores and faceoffs. Dude is a legit menace on the ice.

Dare I say power forward?

Miller is playing unbelievable. He is the inner leader of the team, he is the one who amps this team up.

I'm sorry anyone doubted you, you are a bargain, and a true team player.

Also loved what Miller had to say about Horvat after last nights game. Said he was really happy that Horvat got an ovation. Mentioned he is a great friend, excellent teammate and couldn't be happier for him.

J.T is a class act.

It is not JUST the money, it is his age AND where the team is at in overall age. Miller is a WIN NOW player with maybe 3 more years of being effective.
I have been impressed with his adoption of being a shut down player which will extend his usefulness.

Jamie Benn and Tyler Sequin were more than just good but fell off a cliff.
Search out how many and who are 33/34 yrs old and still the #2 center on the team. Not many;

9 are 35 yrs or older and only 3, Malkin, Crosby and Kopitar have more than 1 point
7 are 34 and two have 6 and 7 points one has one point
2 are 33 with total of one combined point
8 are 32 - Taveras 16, O'Reilly 14, Kadri 9 the rest have less
12 - 31 - 2 players in double digits, 4 - 0pts,
18 are 30 including Miller - 5 in double digits

So 30 and over there are 56 of over 750 players 30 and over and only 11 have double digits.

It is just the odds, law of averages. Miller has not the pedigree of most of those named. BUT he hasn't suffered a lot of injuries and that does count. But those show he should fall off the cliff over the next 3 years but he has already lost half a step the last two years.

Even Taveras started to have question marks on his value.

Of all 30 to 35 yr olds Miller is tied for the 6th most expensive contract.
Theee more good years. Thanks for the laugh. There’s plenty of guys that are still good players into their mid to late 30’s.

But Miller isn't hoped to be merely good or really not that bad, he is signed to be a top six threat to age 33/34 yrs old.
While the change in his game to be more of a match up guy will extend his value, that isn't what the team will need.
He isn't Crosby, he treads more like Todd Bertuzzi, a few real good seasons and then the decline to average and down.

Some of his points were the result of playing with EP and Hughes, the extended PP time and added minutes per game.

BTW, he had a very good game vs Colorado IMO.

And I listed the players in their mid to late 30's and included their point totals. There are not that many that even have double digit points. There was no cherry picking stats or number of players, that's the list from the NHL

Easily my fav player on the team now. Love him. What a beast.
This dude has gone back and forth from over payment to a steal to useless sack to amazing player to team cancer to carrying the team on his back.

So polarising, but i love it at the moment

That that off the skate mid power move goal.

Gotta say Im entertained.

Miller may end up with his best season (to date) at age 30/31. That improvement raises the odds that he'll still be effective later in his contract. Maybe he'll end up closer to a Pavelski aging curve.

I really question when people spam Pavelski with jT, but I was always confident his game would age fine in the first half of the contract. Like very strongly believed that.

I also keep seeing people spam his 5v5 production in terms of offensive output and his shot rates without acknowledging the difficulty in his role, the quality of his wingers, and the fact that they've played a ton of games with Juulsen / Myers being bad for 50% of the season / Hirose/Friedman on the left or whatever. Like it is really hard to control play, and he isn't mistake prone in any zone right now.

I think some people are so attached to when he played like shit, which he absolutely did. I guess the counter to that is there are the people who were so strongly pro JT even when he was playing like shit that they like to rewrite history about his bad moments. Equally annoying to me.

I have loved watching him play. Easily our 2nd best player this season. Really could use another Mikheyev tier winger in the top six.

Even when he was traded here I was of the opinion that he is a playoff player. He had the needed intensity and attitude.
But as a player not with the whole team on his shoulders. I preferred his demeanor on the ice, for the most part, more than Horvat. He looked like he cared about winning an losing more.

As the season weighs on he gets prickly. I always disliked the Sedins "professionalism" of playing for a paycheck, like it is JUST a job. Getting a little excited, emotional and/or angry shows more leadership than quiet "professionalism"

That is another reason I like Pettersson. He has stated how much not just WINNING but playing for a cup is important to him. Even he is getting a little dirty out there sometimes.

Miller has been not just the best Canuck forward this season but the best player, period.

He's been the heart and soul of the team.

More than happy with Hughes as captain but Miller is the vocal and emotional leader of the team.

We live and die by his game.

His hustle on the defensive end has been incredible and he's been the #1 catalyst of the Canucks offense.

Miller led us in scoring during the playoff bubble (tied with Pettersson) and I'm really looking forward to seeing him in the playoffs this year. He reminds me of a mix between Ryan Getzlaf and Ryan Kesler.

Quinn Hughes has been the best player in the entire league this season.

He’s been an absolute beast this season. Playing better than he did 21/22 imo. I feel he’s still sorta under appreciated and underrated by this fan base and league wide (yes pouting and lazy defending negatively skewed opinions).

I defended the JTM signing. Told you so.

*I better say this now because in 5 years the contract probably won’t look so good
Crosby: 93 pt pace - age 36
Malkin: 74 pt pace - age 37
Bergeron: 58 pts, +35 (2023) - age 37
Kopitar: 74 pts, +20 (2023) - age 35
Wheeler: 75 pt pace (2022): age 35

Fingers crossed JTM ages like a fine wine like the above examples. If Miller puts up 70+ pts in his age 35 season, at an 8M cap hit in 2029 he will be an absolute steal.

Such a disgusting shot. Quietly one of the best all around shooters this team has ever had. His pass first style has kept his goal totals modest in the past, but he's letting loose this season.

I don’t think he’s as good at getting a great shot off as the best goal scorers in the game, but when he does get all of it, it’s pretty nasty.
