Player Discussion JT Miller Thread

He's well on his way to having career years with all 3 of his Nuck coaches.

He just needed to be a Canuck is all.

One year ago remember we were all talking about Miller's turnovers, bad attitude, giving up on plays, not being able to play center, etc,

It's night and day this season so far.
This year, the way he is playing, he is one of my favourite players on the team if not the favourite.

Maybe only behind Hughes.

I'll eat a ton of crow. I NEVER EVER could have imagined he could get it together like this.

He had paycheck Bruce and wack ass Horvat beside him. Of course he gonna be f***ing upset.
Please tell me you are joking.

You know, one thing about Miller that went under the radar

According to Tampa fans, he was a pretty decent defensive forward.

Dont know what happend to him when he came over, but if I have to speculate, perhaps he saw no one was paying attention to defence under TG and it influenced him, made him decdie to focus on racking up pts for himself.

This is where recency bias kicks in and the bandwagon of hate takes over.

Miller was struggling but so was most of the team. His struggles were amplified because he yapped his own teammate and his general body language.

The amount of people whining on here about Miller was insufferable.

When Tocchet came in and provided some structure/order, Miller was back to his usual self - a 1C two way beast.

miller was one of the worst players in the nhl in the first half of last season. he was bleeding chances against and his offense was all on the power play. his second half was better but still not great

this year though he's been a legit star. maybe the best 2c in the whole league to this point

He's definitely the spiritual leader of the team.

Right now he is a player GM's and coach's drool over. Mean, abrasive with the high end skill set to match.

If you add another JT Miller to the top 6 we would be a nightmare team to match up against

In just two years, it's hard to find a single mistake this current Canucks braintrust has made in the player personnel department.

At the time, it seemed baffling why the Canucks would re-sign the older player in Miller to a long-term extension instead of Horvat, but we're now seeing the reasons why every game.

From the depth forwards they've signed; to adding character veterans on the blueline; even adding Casey DeSmith at the start of the season; are moves that have all panned out better than expected.

I guess you could quibble with some of the draft picks they've dealt to get out from under some bad contracts. But that's the price of doing business in today's NHL.

Miller has been nothing short of amazing since coming to Vancouver. Pettersson and Hughes are the franchise players, but it's Miller that holds this team together and makes them gel. Miller is the emotional leader and most likely the one who gets the team pumped up in between intermissions. Sometimes Millers emotions may get the better of him but you won't find a player who wants to win on team as badly as Miller.

Miller is a beauty.

That guy is certainly not Miller.

It is Hughes by a mile right now.

Miller is prone to spiralling out of control and at this age I do not believe that is going to change.

That being said, he has been absolutely fantastic this year.
