Player Discussion JT Miller Thread

JT's been able to work on his golf game so much these last couple years, he's now trying out for the US Open.
Ouch! Donnie Taylor basically said the same thing. Every April, Miller hits the links.

The fact that he's apparently good enough to even think about qualifying for the U.S. Open, really speaks volumes about how many playoff games the Canucks have been in since his arrival.

One of the fringe benefits of playing for a 'country-club' team like the Canucks. Year-round golf courses and lots of tee-times.

Just waiting for him to slam his putter into the grass, after missing an easy putt... followed by him yelling out 'f***' at the top of his lungs.

That'll get everyone talking.

It would be awesome if he went Happy Gilmore on the course. I'd actually watch golf then.

Playing from the tips at a PGA course is such a different animal to your local $40 green fee. I'd be at 36 by hole 7 from the ladies tees. Maybe he can focus more on it after hockey and make the show. Will still be a good age for the game at 38-39.

Canucks Army speculating that the fact Miller has a guaranteed seven-year contract, might actually make it easier for the Canucks to deal him---particularly given the fact that this off-season there's a relatively weak UFA class.

Teams that can't splurge to get an immediate bump from the UFA market, might look to Miller as an alternative to beef up their roster, at least in the short term.

When you look at what guys like Tkachuk and Huberdeau got this past off-season, the Miller contract doesn't look all that bad by comparison.

He's going to have a big season. Either back up to 90+ points or even better, show up with a good attitude and show a better two way game than we've seen previously. Maybe he wants to make his case to be captain. That would be awesome.

JT is a good guy and the kind of player every team needs more of. He gives a shit. He cares.

Hopefully. I suspect part of the reason he was so flat out of the gate last year was due to fitness / conditioning.

I think people who like Miller have never met someone like Miller.
You seem to feel like you know him well, care to elaborate?

Bro has the same attitude as Kesler and the latter was beloved in this city until he ran his mouth off and denied it. You damn well know the Twins wouldn’t have sat and let the media run a train on Kesler’s character without stepping in, but yet Horvat is lauded as a good dude for letting them do it to Miller.

One player signed his his deal, has consistently been a PPG or higher, and took some really gross character lashings from fans and media. When Pettersson had to straight up say “we aren’t the same in how we do things but I respect him so much because he wants to win” and JT has to comment “I know you’re surprised because I’m supposed to be some asshole” (re: his support of Pride and LGBT) it gets embarassing to keep going on this. Dude had some shit fits in a tire fire of a season but he wasn’t the one giving sound bites of “it feels like we will never win again”.

If it’s his politics that bother you, I have a lot news for you re: rich white young men and how 90% of them are right leaning.
