Player Discussion JT Miller Thread

So all your posts are not calling it a success.
And Larceny's post is not calling it a success
oookay
these from the last two pages- page 35 and back seem blocked by a very repetitive add.
When the hell did I say the contract was a success? Just because I don’t think his contract is a “disaster”, it means it’s a success??

Don’t put words in my mouth.

JTM does have a better contract than Horvat and is the better player by the way so pretty spot on assessment from Larceny.

Do you really want to come at me?
Not really,
you just got mentioned because John wanted name(s) of folk that think the deal is a success.
I suppose he can always claim victory as nobody actually used the word "success"; but then I never quoted that anyway.
I was going to go back further, but the advertising bot/program is really pissing me off.

Huge off-season for him. Anyone think he can hit 90 pt next season?

Must have been frustrating for alpha JT to stand back and watch Horvat and Bruce’s soft leadership and lack of accountability. With them gone and big boy Tocchet in town he doesn’t have to awkwardly hold back anymore. Time for this team to grow up.

Tocchet has to strength to allow total honesty so emotions can come to the surface in a more controlled manner, not bursting through during games. has the testosterone to put JT in his place when required.

Canucks are 8-9-7 in regulation under Tocchet.

Miller is a negative performer at 5 on 5 (hell so is Pettersson) under this big boy Tocchet coaching.

Gimmicks like Shootouts and 3 on 3 is where a lot of these points come from. I don’t think results in the gimmicky phases in a dead season are worth evaluating.

Tocchet says things like Travis Green and has done the just play more conservatively (less shots, less shots against) that Travis did on his way out. It’s hilarious how alpha dog has a career year with Horvat and Bruce here last season.

It’s more likely he’s just excellent at stat padding on eliminated teams.

The narratives are amusing.

JT Miller's scoring against the current playoff teams 35 - 19 - 23 - 42....and while padding stats against "eliminated" non playoff teams 34 - 9 - 18 - 27

But yknow PP PK and ES don't count. What counts is that time when Boeser and Di Guiseppe are carrying him

What an alpha!!!

You also missed the point…I was talking about the eliminated teams HE plays on!!!!

Does it matter that he produces best against Playoff teams then or does that still make him your scapegoat for stat padding on a non playoff team?

What's with the "Alpha" comment?
The comment I responded to was calling him an alpha.

I’m not scapegoating him. The team is middle to bottom pack. That’s not his fault.

I was just laughing at the idea the guy is this alpha who was unleashed b/c Bo and a Bruce are gone. It amuses me. The idea that the alpha was being held back by the weak is funny.

I don’t particularly care about who he produces against. Im more annoyed by the late season production hikes on bad Canucks teams in games they have zero pressure to perform in.

He’s a good player. The narratives since Tocchet arrived and Bo left are funny though.

I dont see why not..Last season he hit the ground running while the rest of the top 6 (including EP) were underachieving.

This season, he got off to a very slow start..He's certainly having a good ending though..If he stays healthy, I predict around 85 points this season.

Its a critical off season for all the elite players next season..If they have everyone pulling on the rope..next season could also be huge for Miller.

NHL is a professional high stakes sport leauge. The testosterone must flow. Social dynamics for a group of men is real.

This will certainly age well.

I thought being adults and professionals would contribute to that. Who knew professional hockey players had the same mentality as a 14 year old with poor impulse control playing Call of Duty.

But, uh, it would be nice if he could show up and bring his BDE against teams that matter and not just racking up points in garbage time. Nearly a quarter of his points on the season (24%) have come in f***ing March (11 games/13% of the season.)

Although I will say he does seem to sorta be our version of Alex Tanguay (who feasted on us back in the day when he was on the Avs) whenever we play the Knights, so, kudos to him.
