JT >>>>>>>>> Horvat
I’m so happy I was never a big fan of Horvat, I really did appreciate him in the playoffs, but always thought he was overrated, and I hated that he hated the video games lmao

Just watched a post practice presser and Miller seems to be the one who’s most often front and center as a spokesman for the team. It wasn’t long ago that I would have been totally against him playing that role but I’ve got to say that I’m slowly coming to the opinion that JT is the one who should be. He’s not a cliche machine and comes across as very honest and genuine plus his play lately, backs it up. He’s playing hard and showing leadership on and off the ice.

:laugh::laugh:

This thread is gonna out so many “fans”.

I noticed Miller gliding off on a line change in the first period as Ottawa was taking the puck up the ice. Nothing came of it but I thought it looked poor. A few shifts later, I noticed Miller skate hard to the bench in similar circumstances. I wonder if Tocchet had a word with JT.

This guy can do it all in the offensive zone. So dynamic, a lot smarter than we give him credit for. He's truly a team player, which makes sense now seeing him turn it up a couple notches with Tocchet

This guy is going to age so well.

I think he’ll really play at a high level for four to five more seasons. The overreactions in this thread is going to be a goldmine. It’s almost like all the distraction and noise surrounding this team and trade rumors significantly affected his game. Must be hard to focus on your game when everyone in the city hates you and already deems your contract a “disaster” and wanting to trade you for peanuts.

If he stays for the rest of his career, he’s gonna go down as one of the best forwards in franchise history.

If Petey doesn’t want to be captain - JT absolutely should be captain.

JT was a big reason why Horvat was getting so many easy looks. It honestly would not surprise me if JT assisted Horvat the most this season.

JT is such an underrated player because of being a late bloomer, and the problems he had early in his career. Guy has been nothing short of being a pro ever since he has come here. I'm sad to see BO go, but I'm choosing JT 10 times out of 10, and I really hope he retires a Canuck.

His offensive skillset is off the charts. He’ll age really well.

Once he transitions into a winger in year 4/5 - he’ll just need to play with two defensively responsible forwards and he’ll still be able to produce.

Fell 23 points short after last game, of being the fastest Canuck to 300 points. Should comfortably come in 2nd, after Bure. Currently held by EP.

A bit different not being drafted here, but still cool. Could very well end up quite high on a lot of franchise lists if he plays out his contract here.

Horvat was a nothing captain, he’d be better off as a role player. Hence his demeanour and lack of laziness in regards to rallying the troops might have rubbed the guys the wrong way.

You think..?...I am reading this a fair bit, although I dont believe it..I think Horvat was an excellent captain and was highly respected by his teammates.

When a key player leaves, other players step up and fill that void..In this case, Miller,EP and Hughes have done that..Its their team now.

Problem I had with Horvat is that he always sulked of things went bad.

Strange how many people call a contract a success, even though it hasn't even started yet.

i dont see the necessity to run Horvat down. Bo had the unenviable task of being captain of the Travis Green Benning and Weisbrod era. I actually feel sorry for him.

In terms of sheer on ice value Bo is a premium support piece not a high end talent who drives offense. Miller is a much more talented and productive player (outside of the 20-30 games this year where it looked like Miller just put his feet up and said "fxxx it" No systems no defense no goalie no accountability i dont really care) and unfortunately for Bo he played a part in all of that forcing his way out and sprinting up ice and giving 2 fuxxx about being on the right side of pucks. Without his unsustainable shooting pctg he would have had much worse defensive metrics thats a fact

I'm a fan of Miller. he will always be a bit polarizing because of his body language and swearing and smashing his stick but i've played with guys like that who wore their hearts on their sleeves and were great guys off ice and it never bothered me one bit seeing some negative outbursts knowing that the player cared as much as anyone and would run through a wall when the time was right. JT would

Miller is a throwback, he probably hurt some players feelings being honest in how he felt about their play and isn't one to hold his tongue. I would much prefer that to some fake positive platitude BS that so prevalent in todays society. How many times have you came away after listening to an interview and thought he's talking in cliches or made a poor assessment of his own play or the teams. Almost never is the answer.

He's one of the probably top10-15 players to wear a Canuck jersey in terms of talent and ability to score and and a top50 forward in the NHL. When everyone thought he couldn't play C and that he was just this cancerous bad contract he's basically shoved all that right down the haters throats.

He's on a helluva heater right now and is back to being with Pettersson a formidable duo. Obviously it would be ideal if he was 3 or 4 yrs younger but i'm gonna enjoy him as much as possible of that 7yr deal if he stays, not be bitching about him and trying to run him down the first opportunity to do so.

Name one person who’s called the contract a success.

Literally haven’t seen one person say that ever but go off king. Almost everyone I know hates the contract and thinks its a disaster. I think its a fair market value contract - not a win or a loss. He’d get a similar contact in free agency this year anyway.

This the twitter version of arguing against made up narratives??

To quote Alain Vigneault, Miler is playing 'like a man possessed' since Horvat left and Tocchet took over the bench.

I was completely convinced the Canucks made the wrong call-extending Miller instead of Horvat. But now I'm conceding that I could have been wrong.

Miller, Pettersson and Hughes, with an assist from Demko, are carrying the Canucks on their backs right now.

JT Miller has a better contract then Horvat. And is the better player. And will be for the entire contract. And that is what I have to say about that.

This guy is going to age so well.

So all your posts are not calling it a success.
And Larceny's post is not calling it a success
oookay
these from the last two pages- page 35 and back seem blocked by a very repetitive add.
