So ragging on a player for not having hardware is just hilarious non-sense to anyone outside of the Leafs fan base.
I didn't bring it up sir, i responded to a post that said Miller was a much more proven playoff performer than "soft Marner".

You did bring it up then. Both descriptions are true, or at least have some firm backing for the position. Your position is laughing at a sinking ship, while your ship is also sinking.

No, my position was/is that Miller hasn't won anything more in Vancouver than Marner has in Toronto....and again, i didn't state Marner was great in the playoffs.

No one said otherwise -- you're conflating winning championships with performing well in the playoffs generally to avoid discussing the conclusion that is actually being stated -- that JT Miller is a better and more proven playoff performer. You can debate whether or not it is true, but this is at least what was actually said. I would lean toward agreeing based on what Miller did in the playoffs last year.

Sure, won't even argue....now i will ask this, do we have a shot at beating Tampa with Miller and running

Reilly/Brodie
Muzzin (if healthy)/Holl
Sandin/Dermott/Lub/Lil

Or do we have a better shot at winning withan upgrade at D?

Miller won't change an entire loser mentality.

This was not what I responded to.

Yup, sure did... Tavares on the sidelines, and Matthews with a wrist injury that required surgery. That's a big chunk of the teams scoring right there.

Not that the team played well enough, but context is still important.

Where was the 11 million dollar man, Mitch Marner?

Context is definitely important, this Leafs team has shown zero reason to be given the benefit of the doubt.

17 years and counting.

Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs, 20202021 Playoffs

Such a lazy narrative. I agree game 7 they weren’t great, but montreal didn’t deserve to be in game 6. Or the series at all. Carey did absolutely carry them. Pun intended

I'm not particularly sure linking game 7 which showcased one of the most pathetic offense efforts of all time necessarily helps your case.

1 high danger scoring chance in a do or die game 7? I rest my case.

So…we are back to participation ribbons…

So any player with no cups is garbage? Great philosophy, Yoda. There are measurable metrics for Miller being a better playoff performer, which are easy to google if you're interested in forming an argument. But you'd rather take your baseball bat home because you've struck out, or at least the equivalent for a discussion.

Have a strange feeling Drury may be gearing up to move an Othmann and his 1st for a Miller. If he has to choose between Oth or Schneider, he’s going to move the forward, considering he won’t be ready for 3 more years, at least. Schneider is a cost controlled blue liner with top-4 upside that’s already shining at 20. Would Canucks fans be happy with that return?

Holy shit man, where did I say Miller was garbage? All this started by a guy trashing Marner’s playoffs…poster stated that Miller was a proven playoff winner….I asked what he won in Vancouver….which is nothing, same as Marner in Toronto.

In no post have I called Miller garbage…just said he’s not worth the asking price for Toronto.

You can deny it all you want, but I guarantee a player having an important active role in winning a playoff series holds value throughout the league.
I never said he didn’t hold value, never said he was a bad player….just said he’s not worth the asking price for Toronto:

I've warmed up to Othmann quite a bit, but we simply don't need more wingers. If Othmann was an added asset to what we need, I'd be happy with his inclusion, but there is no reason to trade Miller for another winger when we have Podkolzin, Hoglander and Klimovich in addition to Boeser (to whom we'd be committing), Garland, Pearson and possibly Pettersson as top six winger options.

Plus Rutherford seems intent on trying to remain competitive until we're mathematically eliminated, to give the kids experience in the chase of it, so it seems.

There is no Fing way we are trading Schneider and I hope we don't trade Othman either. Both are going to be important young pieces for a long time.

His value just keeps on getting better,,I'd still rather keep him,,but in hindsight,,if we can get a high pick or quality prospects back ... defense preferably,,I'd be looking at moving him...

I would be, yes. Vancouver needs defenders but I like Othmann a lot.

I wonder if something like Andreas Athanasiou (mostly for salary reasons), Sean Walker, Helge Grans, and LA's first might be appealing?
