He has been tearing it up offensively in Abby this year. Adding a shooter like him on an elc to the Canucks current squad is going to be huge. Still has some warts to fix on his 2 way game in the A this year, but not overly concerned about that.

Very excited for him. after whiffing on Podkolzin and Juolevi, if this pick turns into a top 6 staple, it'll help extend the window along with Willander ....and Raty?
2 out of 3 ain't bad as I don't see any impact or even average player in Raty.

Officially called up.

And now we wonder if Tocchet will view him in a similar light as Kuzmenko and Sprong...that's my big fear as a Lekky keeper league owner.
Lekky is pretty good away from the puck positionally. Very smart player in terms of seeing the bigger picture on the ice, and from what I have seen, is committed to winning, not just scoring. No stranger to breaking up plays on the back check in the neutral zone and hustling back to help against odd-man rushes. Physically limited in what he can do with board battles and I doubt he's ever seen near a PK unit. Kuzy and Sprong couldn't see the forest for the trees,-- they were very short sighted and one dimensional offensively when it came to their hockey IQ, and at their best defensively, were just hustling to where coach told them.

Has he played with Räty in the AHL, in the same line that is? Did they have any chemistry? How did he work with Miller?

Other Canucks thoughts: I don't see Aatu Räty becoming a good fourth line center in the future if he doesn't improve his skating. But... If he's able to become a NHL´er it's more likely as a top9 or top6. He has skill and the understanding if anything. Don't understand why they use him like that.

he will be one of those rare Laine types that will consistently beat goalies from distance. Allvin took a chance when he was all about his shot, very young for his draft year, he worked on his defensive game and his skating improved enough not to be a liability. He looks like the real deal when many gave up on him during his lacklustre D+1.
