Elliotte just said if Muzzin is on LTIR (injured last game, seems another concussion), he thinks the Leafs will go after Miller

What would the asking price be?

Toronto has nothing except Reilly,,that I'd be interested in for Miller,,Rather keep Miller anyways..

Having read none of the previous conversation what do you all think of

Niemela/Amirov + first + Liljegren + cap dump? (Not familiar with leafs cap situation other than Muzzin going out) for Miller?

Respectfully pass…unless we still somehow have all those assets after we have upgraded the D.

Um as a Vancouver fan this a really bad proposal.

J T Miller is the best player in the trade. It also changes the culture of the team. Myers is over paid by about 2 million that is why the Canucks retain on Miller

Even if Miller is better than Nylander, it’s marginal and negated by the fact that Nylander is 3 years younger and signed a year longer. So the difference between them isn’t a 1st, top prospect and a cap dump

Miller (1 million retained)
Myers
Halak
For
Nylander
one of Liljegren/Robertson/Nemila
2022/2023 1st
lesser prospect or pick

Leafs move Mrazek in a separate deal.

Wouldn't do this as a Canucks fan, Nylander is not the type of player we should be targeting. Also can't see the Leafs giving up this much and taking back a boat anchor contract in Myers.

As a Leaf fan who thinks he's a great player, I don't think any trade makes sense for him imo. I get we have 2 playoff runs guaranteed with this core and Miller would be around for both, but we have very few tradeable assets left, especially if we're dumping 3 or 4 in 1 trade.

Personally I wanna keep Liljegren, Robertson, Knies and Niemla. With Amirovs career in jeopardy, we essentially have only our 1sts, Dermott, Holl and Engvall. Which isn't much

I would personally look at Stastny and Gio/Chariot which shouldnt cost any or just 1 of the 4 guys I wanna keep.

Again, hes a great player but I don't see how a trade works out for him

This would be such a stupid move for the Maple Leafs.

If Dubas takes that cap space and the assets required and uses it on a forward he may well be the stupidest General Manager since Mike Milbury.

I've been baffled by his decision making before, but I can't fathom how you could watch that team play night after night and believe that the best thing you could do is add another impact forward.

This team is crying out for better goaltending, better defense and players that will make the team much more difficult to play against.

To think the answer to that is JT Miller is beyond comprehension. If he makes that trade this is, without a doubt, his final season in Toronto and that might be the best possible outcome for Leaf fans.

Get a deal done for Miller and schenn. Things go sideways Whatever goes out the door will come back on trade with Willy or Mitch going the other way

Last playoffs the top issue was depth scoring, not defense.

We need both.

Can we afford Miller? Seems unlikely.

But what do you need more?

I saw every game of last year's playoffs and while the offence was definitely an issue, if I had to pin point their problem it's that they are just too easy to play against, and Jack Campbell, while posting good numbers, surrendered a few goals that were psychologically back breaking.

I would also question that defense wasn't a problem last spring. The Canadiens definitely targeted Rasmus Sandin in the series, dumped into his corner and played very physical against him as a strategy and he was exploited. There's no question the Canadiens intended to be more physical and try to wear out Toronto or make some guys hear footsteps and it worked.

If Dubas is going to use that cap space, I don't think bringing in another forward is really addressing a serious need. The blue line and in the crease are both bigger problems. If he's hell bent on adding up front, I'd rather see them use that cap space to get bigger physical forwards that are not at the level of Miller, but can't make the team much more difficult to play against and have the tools to push back. Much like Tampa Bay bringing in Goodrow and Coleman a few years back.

Last playoffs the issue was Carey Price,,,, by pretty much every metric, the Leafs offensive stats were better than Montreals.

If we face Tampa or Florida...we better fix the D first....

Mmm JTs injury might have mattered a bit.
This i agree with. I'm not saying we can't upgrade at forward....but in no way should that be top priority. Our defence as it stands will get ragdolled....and we don't even know if Muzzin will be back.

I've seen this narrative pushed before, and without question Carey Price was instrumental, but I think you are burying your head in the sand if you think this series was just the Leafs running into a hot goaltender.

They shouldn't be losing to teams like Columbus and Montreal in the post season, but they are. It's not just bad luck.

considering leaf fans think that niemla/knives/1st is significantly more than what jack eichel (there words not mine) got there probably just going to offer crap here

Oh wait they think he's worth 1st +any garbage prospect + dermott. typical leafs nonsense.

Or what version of Muzzin. He hasn't been himself in most of the game I've seen this year. The Leafs absolutely need Muzzin at his best or that blue line is an issue *with* him, so it's a bigger problem if he's inconsistent or not at his usual level.
