We'll see. Plenty of players have looked good at the OHL level, but not so much at the NHL level.

Plekanec started off his 1st year largely on the 4th line, after playing 3 full years in the AHL (though that was a different wra).

He and Higgins were incredible in the fourth line. They just wouldn't quit, ever. They were relentless

Could be. But that could be on the fourth line. I'm not sure his ceiling over the next 5 years is higher than Monahan's as 3c for the next 5 years though. that's why I want Monahan back.
Just let it go with Monahan he won't be back.
Beck will be a perfect 3C I don't get where your hesitancy comes from.
If Beck comes close to reaching his potential he will be every bit as valuable as Monahan.

As far as Roy goes I can't help but like the fact that he rarely puts his team in trouble.
Good along the boards and knows how to clear the zone properly.

You do what you do I'll do what I do.

When Beck is ready to become the perfect 3c, Monahan can move to the wing. He would be great on Beck's wing.

I don't think so either. But never say never. Many said the same thing last year.
He was coming off of 2 hip injuries, and got injured again. Everyone was scared to give him a contract.

This year he's at 61 games played, and counting. .72ppg on the season, .75ppg in Winnipeg. He's getting signed somewhere nicer than here, guaranteed, unless we go crazy on length. (edit: That's what she said!)

We'll see what happens. He's only 12 games into his Winnipeg tenure. And, just before those 12 games, all teams except WPG refused to give up a 1st for him. He may go on a slump. WPG may get knocked out 1st round. We'll see.

But yes, I think it's highly, highly probable he'll get term and or AAV somewhere else that is beyond what Hughes is willing to pay.

I felt he had a tougher time out there tonight and struggled at times but still managed to score a really nice goal

I hate the « we have to send him down to help Laval ». Stop playing with the guys, you’re good enough to be in our top 9, you play in the NHL. Send Ylonen or Pezz down for f***’s sake.

MERITOCRACY. Players have to respect that nothing is given and everything has to be earned. He earned to stay. Who gives a rat’s ass about Laval. They won’t make the playoffs.
