Skating class for everybody this summer!:D

I truly wish we had a team of specialist dedicated to improve and help all our players to improve their skating and agility.
Skating is one part of the equation. Athleticism is the other. Riy can improve his skating but doesn’t have the athleticism to be great. But he has compensated in other ways (hockey iq).

People can boom me later.. but I have utmost confidence that Roy, Farrell, and Ylonen are NHLers up front. If Kidney shows improvement in his physical abilities, he will be there too.

Wright, Suzuki, Caufield, Ylonen, Roy, Farrell, Kidney, Evans is all a good start up front.
Guhle, Romanov, Barron, and Harris is a good start on the back end.

Only adding more potential names to that list these next two drafts.
I like this take, but I'd like to see 1-2 more Tuch-style players being drafted, even if the outcome of that particular one is still up in the air. Tampa's recent success seems to turn on getting a few of those on the cheap. Though I'm all for a cerebral team, the way refs put away whistles this time of year suggests that we balance this approach with players who combine size, acumen and skating.

Yeah I still believe in Tuchs ability to be a complimentary piece in a top 9.

It's why I'd like to try to grab Ingram, Schaefer and Dolzhenkov in this draft. All three have size and skill.

Think speed might be even more important than size. Ideally both, but if the core four up front is Suzuki/Caufield/Wright/Roy I think that group could definitely benefit from being surrounded with speed.

That's where Heineman could be good pick up if he can develop himself well. He got the size and skating to follow those type of players and be the F1

The Q does look worse than usual this season.

I think there’s a lot of deception in his release. But I dont think his shot is a 40 goal scorer’s shot.

His offensive IQ and general playmaking ability leads me to believe he has potential to become a top 6 player in the NHL. We saw it in training camp as well, he easily finds soft spots in the offensive end.

I guess maybe that's the key to his game that we don't see in these goals highlights, his IQ. I have not seen enough of him at this point.

Drouin Suzuki Caufield
Hoffman-Dvorak-Gallagher
R Pitlick-Wright-Anderson
Armia-Evans-Poehling

And Byron as 13th forward.

There's no room for rookies until we move contracts out. Anderson and Dvorak are the only vets that have positive value.

Hello there guys;
So, Roy was the last offensive prospect cut last year from training camp and made fans excited by his on ice performance.

Yet, we as hab fans have OCD about bringing In prospects early after Kotkaniemi fiasco but with depleted roster and rebuilding team would you be with or against the decision to let him stay and play in Montreal?

How do You see Hugo team handling Roy?

He's not NHL ready. Reway was the last cut once upon a time IIRC. It just means management wanted a deeper look at him for future projections.

Different management and different philosophy this time with a focus on development. At the same time will likely have too many rookies trying to get a start on the team.

Wright, Guhle, Maybe one or two of Button/Harris/Xajaje/Norlinder.

But I agree Roy should get a chance amongst this crew

What about giving him 9 games and see how he handles himself in Pro before sending him back?

I just don’t want to see this guy yo-yo’d everywhere. Is he physically ready? If they don’t think so, leave him in the Q.
