10 Sog yesterday? 4 points in 2 games?

If Dach is hurt he should be the call up, no doubt. It will probably be Armia which is fine too.
Armia has by all accounts been Laval's best player. I can't imagine they let him rot there the whole season. Roy likely gets the call after that if he continues his pace. TBH I'd waive Gally and send him down too. We've got so many guys sitting out in Montreal and Laval that we kind of need some injuries at this point.

I don't think they sent Armia for just 2 games, let Roy show what he's got first.

Gallagher has a NMC

Perhaps, but Hughes loses over 1M cap space by bringing up Armia and he likely intends to use that cap space to help to acquire more assets. Armia has had plenty of chances and it wouldn't be difficult to justify keeping him down.

It is 50/50 for me between Roy/Armia who Hughes decides to call up.

If it is done immediately to replace Dach I would lean towards Hughes choosing Armia as they may want a longer stint for Roy in the AHL.

If he continues at this rate he will need to be brought to the NHL. He appears to be easily handling the AHL.

If Armia wasn't picked up with a 3.4M contract that only has two years remaining, hard to imagine that Gallagher, with a 6.5M contract and four years remaining, would.

Imagine that he's sent down, though and, unlike Armia, has trouble in the AHL?

Whoever gets called up for Dach isn't getting in the lineup over Pez so might as well call Armia up and wait for the next injury.

I think Roy will be a top-6 NHL W sooner than later though. The way he played with Stankoven and Bedard made me a true believer, he can really complement a good skill line

Nobody needs be called up. Only two games again this weak and enough depth at C with Newhook who can play as pivot until Dvorak and Dach return to the lineup.

Probably too early to recall Roy, but he's the only one I'd consider calling up:

Caufield - Suzuki - Roy

Slafkovsky - Monahan - Ylonen

RHP - Newhook - Anderson

Pearson - Evans - Gallagher/Pezzetta

I like that line-up. Not bad, 8/10.

Thanks, but, of course, it lacks something, because, even with Dach in the lineup, we lack at least one top-6 winger that would drop others in the right chair, a little lower on the depth chart, like Anderson, who would kicks withRHP and Newhook on third line.

I'd prefer

Slafkovsky - Monahan - Roy, for example, because I'm not sure Roy is ready for the responsibilities of playing on a top line against the opponents' best yet?

With Dach back, why not:

Slafkovsky - Dach - Monahan
Caufield - Suzuki - Roy
RHP - Newhook - Anderson
Pearson - Evans - Ylonen
Gallagher, Pezzetta

-OR-

Slafkovsky - Dach - Monahan
Caufield - Suzuki - Roy
RHP - Newhook - Anderson
Ylonen - Evans - Gallagher
Pearson, Pezzetta

Slafkovsky may not yet be ultimately ready for those responsibilities (on a top line) either, but the size and overall defensive acumen Slafkovsky - Dach - Monahan can hold up better than I think Caufield - Suzuki - Roy would over 82 games.

Beyond that, Caufield - Suzuki - Roy would also be better able to dominate their match-ups in a 2nd line role, IMO.

Suzuki has proven that he can play a complete 200 ft game at the highest level with his great Stanley Cup run performance and he is the only player in this proposed top six that has proven that he can stay healthy although Roy may end up being a durable player as well. Monahan is not a top line forward and Slafkovsky needs to be sheltered more than any of these players so I would have to strongly disagree until their is more solid evidence to the contrary.

It really doesn't matter anyways as it is more likely that we just eventually have two top lines that share similar responsibilities.

The fan base is gutted with the Dach injury. They should get this guy up for our morale!!

Unbearable that Pezz and Gally are in that lineup and not him. Call up Armia and Roy, bench Gally. Send down pezz.

Maybe the major problem with Bergevin has not drafting but developing young player?

The problem Bergevin had was long term vision. He started with a good young core but not much depth around it. We kept on rushing young players to fill holes.

Now, Roy turns pro and shows promise in the AHL and some fans want to call him up already. Same fans that are desperate to trade Anderson, Gallagher, Armia, Pearson aslo want to rush our young players to fill their spots.

I personally think Roy is ready, and he will continue to be offensively productive, especially if he's on the PP.

Having MT as a coach was a far bigger problem than "rushing" young players.

I was thinking re-evaluate after 40 games. But if continues
this level of play regardless of point totals, and shows he is
working at good pro habits, then maybe 20 or 25 is enough.
I think it is too early to see if this continues. And I think Houle
is good with players that are almost NHL ready, turning them
into good pros. Roy is just out of CHL, I imagine he could
benefit from some of that

You can't keep Pezz all the time, we need offence, especially with Dach out, they will have to call back someone who can add offence and it's not Armia, it's Roy.

It’s not rushing if he’s ready. Guhle, Xhekaj weren’t rushed. He’s 20 not 18. He has the junior pedigree, the talent and the physicality to skip the A. If he was from the O and not the Q and 1st round pick instead of 5th, with his junior production, camp and Team Canada performance (2nd best player after Bedard for me), he wouldn’t have set foot in the A.
