Josh is off to surgery tomorrow. He is flying out to Chicago….out 4-6 months. So so depressing

4 months would bring him to early March. Good for 5 weeks left in the season. 5 months would bring him back for April, good for the last few games of the seasons. 6 months would bring him back for the third round.

Smith says there hasn't been a decision made yet on Josh Norris's recovery plan. Norris is seeking a 2nd opinion. "It's his right to do so, to look into whatever's best for him. It would be great to have him back but we gotta move on as if he's not coming."

For what it's worth, he is in Chicago seeing the surgeon who operated on the shoulder a few years ago. That is the second opinion. I have a few NHL guys in the neighborhood, like Nick Paul who gave my son a signed stick with six signatures, now it's Cam Talbot and his family living in that house. Then in the case of where Josh Norris is staying, yes I have spoken to him on numerous occasions. In fact, originally it was Formenton and Josh who moved in August, and obviously, Formenton is no longer there so Josh is on his own. I see him a few times a day either walking the dog or driving by with a salute or some small talk. That's my source and I decided to share this as we are all somewhat distraught that he is injured.

Jesus dude.... are you like 12? You still don't understand the butterfly effect?

And by the way "dude", keep thinking everything is always roses in DJ Dorion's world. We have really been spoiled too much
Why would you keep Brown, didn’t want to be here.

Why would you keep Brown, didn’t want to be here.

- I like Joseph but maybe we should have inked Nick Paul to that contract instead, so Brown would have wanted to stay. Nick is one of the top defensive forwards in the league. Brown is no slouch and a top PKer too

- Don't trade for Hamonic

- Trade the 7th OA pick (and more) for help on RHD instead

- So since we didn't trade for DeBrincat, get Bjorkstrand (or Pacioretty or someone else). Beat that 3rd + 4th offer

Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson
Bjorkstrand - Stutzle - Giroux
Paul - Pinto - Brown
Crookshank - Kastelic - Watson
Kelly

Chabot - RHD
Sanderson - Zub
Brannstrom - Holden
Zaitsev

No problem with the cap next year too, and going forward. And we'd have a real top matchup line

This is just one example

Two reasons .. 1. if he's here he is going to play hard. 2. He makes us better
Pretty big upgrade on Joseph on the 3rd line imo.

I am sure Brown knows what happened with the Paul negotiation more than we do and he very likely wanted Paul to stay. Not sure if that made Brown think twice about "wanting to stay".
Brown is a good player and would help put the Sens in at least a slightly better position to compete for a playoff spot.

What about having stutzle,Giroux, and tkachuk take all the faceoffs and let Norris lineup on the wing when he gets back?

Interesting. I hope it's the right decision. 5 doctors though, is that normal? Or does it point to continuing to get a second opinion until you get the answer you want?

As someone who's had a few injuries, it is absolutely normal in this day and age. In fact, I feel hesitant if I only see 1-2 doctors regarding major health decision.

I argued to re-sign Paul & keep C. Brown while most argued against it because they were going to be too expensive & Joseph some said was just as good if not better. Seems they were wrong again, while I still think it was a big mistake to lose Paul, Brown was a different issue. He publicly announced he would seek free agency & I doubt any team would want to keep a guy on the roster who didn't want to be here & potentially being a distraction.

They want players who want to be here long term & signed a number of their young players to long contracts. I liked Brown & wanted to keep him, but certainly understand he wanted to move on & they did the right thing for him & the team. They also replaced his numbers with the addition of Giroux & DeBrincat & if they can get this guy scoring again we would quickly forget about Brown. Losing Paul was the bigger mistake given the problems they have had losing centres & Paul can play both LW & centre & Paul has had his detractors on here too.

Norris has been one of their best faceoff guys & much better than Stutzle.
