He is a huge piece that is missing from our team this year. He had 35 goals in 66 games last year. I forgot how clutch he was. 8 game winning goals in 66 games. The NHL leaders had 11 in 81 games.

Was thinking the same - which leads to the question:
If he wasn't skating up until recently, is it because falling could cause problems?
And if so, then this is probably a good sign.

agreed... I mean, if I did this poll last year after the Milano-Zegras goal, or soon after the WJC last July, the ANA duo probably wins it. I do think TT may the best going forward, even though hes a little older. His size and skillset is just so rare to see. Question is can he do it for long...

With Brady and G good on draws, wonder if he doesn’t take faceoffs but has the rest of centre ice responsibilities for a time.

People thought DBC was the natural scorer but when Norris comes back and starts popping water bottles again people will recognize it is just what he does.
Plus his all around game as well.

We aren't making the playoffs and he is injury prone when it comes to that shoulder.
I see no real point in taking a huge risk in bringing him back this season. He should be looking at next year's training camp and making sure he is 100% ready to go then.

With all these young guys its hard to since most of them don't really have a track record in the NHL
He would return in Jan only if he is 100% or atleast the new 100% for him
I listened to that clip and I'm pretty sure DJ said "into January" twice.
Listened to that part again and and thought the same.
That's not how it works though - he won't sit out 40 games just in case he gets injured again, he will get back and have confidence in the shoulder so he can have a great off season and be ready for next year.
There is still a lot to work on. Can he and DBC work with Pinto? Does the 3rd line look like it did in preseason and early in the season once Pinto slides back in there?
If he comes back earlier than expected I take that as a good sign and hope he rips it up.
