These guys all participate in team group chats, you don’t think Pinto knew what was up with Norris ? I think that part is naive.

If they were always lying about the injury it sure didn’t help them get Pinto signed lol
Every sport franchises lies about the health of their players, if you think the Sens are the only one doing this, if you believed everything the coach and gm says then that's on you. Big corporations lies, governments lies, police lies, sport franchise lies, we live in a society where lying is rewarded bud. So it's not a big surprise that Sens management would lie about one their top players health.

He needs to get tf out of this org.
Man it must be frustrating to be you, I understand you hate the man, but you're not in charge. So for now DJ is the coach and PD is the GM. You keep banging your head against the wall with this they must fire Dorion blah blah blah... This season you will have your wish, DJ and PD will probably get fired if the team under perform so there you go, you can always cheer for that.

Starting in Carolina without 2 of the top 3 centers.

Again a one line team. Good luck DJ! Pressure will be insane if they lose a few to start. There is no excuses this season….

It seems there's a pretty good excuse for a slow start. Missing 2 of our top 3 centres and a new team trying to find its roles.

Last year we were upset that he came back from injury too early and re-injured it. Now Norris seems worried that he is going to get re-injured if he comes back this early and some fans are upset again.

Personally think this is nonsense. If Norris is down for a while, he's getting LTIRd and Pinto is signed. So we're only down 1. And frankly this team should he used to Norris being down by now

Clearly he already re-injured it.

That’s what is upsetting.

Meh, he already got demoted.
He's done its not a matter of if it's when.

It was obvious he shouldn't have come back last year so he could be ready for this year. They were out of it. The season was done, now he hasn't had enough time to heal he rushed it and now re injured it. The organization has grossly mismanaged the situation. That coupled with Pinto is unacceptable.

Well I don’t know who mismanaged it this time around.

Whether it was the team, the doctors, the GM, DJ or Norris doing stuff he shouldn’t have with a wonky shoulder.

Does anyone know what actual shoulder surgery Norris had? I've looked, best I can find is Dorion saying shoulder subluxation last January. But there are different types of subluxations.

From what I've read, he should be recovered by now. But, it's also possible that the shoulder is never 100% again

I think the original timeline was reported by media to be 4-6 months, but that might have been them just googling shoulder surgery rather than getting confirmation from the team

This is truly a gut punch to the season. If Norris can't play 60 games, this team won't get a sniff of the playoffs. Let's hope he misses 10 here, open up some money for Pinto, and hopefully our vaunted defence (lol) can keep us in games with our Vezina level goaltending (lol).

I think if we get Pinto back in the next 5 games, we make the playoffs even without Norris.
Assuming the rest of the team is relatively healthy.
That said, Dorion has mismanaged and bungled things…again.

His original surgery in 2019 was to repair a torn labrum
Norris had surgery on that same shoulder back in 2019 after being hurt at the World Junior Hockey Championships. That ended his season at the University of Michigan. In 2021-22, Norris missed 16 games with another shoulder issue, but still racked up a career-best 35 goals and 55 points in 66 games. He signed his big contract after that performance, then hurt the shoulder again last season while taking a faceoff.

Or maybe hire one that knows how to treat shoulder injuries properly is more accurate .. lol

The medical staff told Dorion weeks/months ago that Norris shoulder is fixed and that we got nothing to worry about .. They seem like amateurs low budget doctors/trainers leftover from Melnyk ownership.
You do know that Norris consulted more than one specialist right?

His surgery was performed by a shoulder specialist, not Sens staff.

Sens medical staff report on his progress, Norris himself reported that he was fine. Perhaps he really was until he tweaked things recently?

Of all the people commenting as though they know anything about the medical profession, or about Norris and his situation, the Sens medical staff are pretty low on the list of who is an amateur. I would put posters in here at the top of that list personally.

Maybe you should take a second and look up the people you shit on before posting. Doc Chow has been with the team since its modern inception, and is apparently very well respected in his field. Your Melnyk syndrome is showing.

This guys inability to follow simple information is the problem here.

I don’t get fans who think and expect to get in detail information about someone else’s medical situation.

Its this weird expectation of invasive information, along with a complete detachment for personal experiences with injuries.

This is not a video game, sometimes surgery and recovery actually takes time, set backs happen, unexpected side effects occur, etc…

This is embarrassing from members of the fan base..
