Or maybe hire one that knows how to treat shoulder injuries properly is more accurate .. lol

Or better yet maybe educate yourself on the situation - If you were paying attention the medical staff told Dorion weeks/months ago that Norris shoulder is fixed and that we got nothing to worry about .. They seem like amateurs low budget doctors/trainers leftover from Melnyk ownership.

You should write a strongly worded letter to the IIHF complaining that their Chief Medical Officer is a low budget amateur.

What was even the point of Pierre and his cronies gaslighting us about Norris being healthy all preseason long lol

Centre depth looking putrid all of a sudden

Maybe it wasn't gaslighting.

It's not to protect Norris. It's so they dont get roasted over an open fire by Pinto and his agent. Who needs to be signed ASAP
Sorry but how does Norris not being physically able to play help in negotiations with Pinto?

If we start the season with a healthy Norris, we have a better chance of starting well.

If the Senators come out winning, the need for Pinto (theoretically) is less and the Senators can hold strong.

If the Senators don't have Norris and don't come out winning, the need for Pinto increases, giving Pinto leverage to get what he wants.

The best case is Grieg or whoever fills in well enough and the team keeps winning despite missing Norris/Pinto. Then we don't need to make a panic move.

Sorry but you are contradicting yourself.
Those 2 posts say the same thing...where is the contradiction?

If Norris needs. Another surgery and misses another massive amount of time we need to accept he likely just won’t meet his potential. Missing so much dev time.

One thing I have been unable to find out is if LTIR can carry over from seasons to season. Theoretically, Norris has been on LTIR since January and CapFriendly still has him there. That is more than 10 games and 24 days. So in that case, can he come off it at any time?
One slight correction, he’s been on IR all summer, not LTIR, so yes he can come off IR at any time, but could also be moved to LTIR to start season.

I don’t see how LTIRing a player practicing in a non-contact jersey doesn’t result in an investigation by the NHL.
I feel the the NHL largely doesn't give a shit, lol. If we were entering the playoffs over the cap and we LTIRed a player in a non-contact jersey sure, otherwise nah.

And of course a lot of the confusion about all this can be directly traced back to Dorion talking too much. "Oh he's fine, he'd play if this was the regular season. We are just being extra cautious".

He was probably being honest but he should have stuck to "he's tweaked something and we are going to see what happens". That is how you handle questions about an injury to a key player who has missed significant time and had a setback.

LTIR resets at the end of each season. As of this moment there is only one known player who was placed on off-season LTIR for 2023-24: Jake Muzzin.
