yup... it's about the only deal on this thread that will actually help both teams. Walker on their RD is a decent stop gap for the loss of Petry until someone steps up.

Nope

We need to add a veteran defenseman, not trade a good one for a lesser one.

Plus Edmundson is worth more than that.

If we're retaining 50% we can get a 1st back for a healthy Edmundson quite easily imo

The stop gap is cool and all, but we're better off just playing Edmundson on his offside...

You're going to have to, Blake backs out of that one in a heartbeat.

I don't think LA should be doing that move yet. But, that's what it cost to get a physical top 4 D at the TDL. If he's made available this year, I have no doubt we'll get that return, perhaps a little more.

Harris has look good at 21 in the NHL on a shit team... He's a better dman than both these guys
cause he has such a huge sample size LOL, montreal fans are so clueless. always a source of entertainment.

spence has already played twice the amount on the team that is stacked on the RHD. who is stopping Harris from coming up LOL

Umm if anything is going to look better with cap going up. You’ll have to sign an equivalent player to 6M+ in 2 year

A lot of people in here acting as if vilardi is still a top prospect…
Well with 4 goals in his last 3 games I think we’ll give it another season before we throw the towel in on Gabe

The rumours around Anderson were explicitly that he wasn't on the trade block despite teams inquiring. Its pretty clear that they're not looking to move him.
As a Kings fan I’m glad to hear that. Can we kill this thread now?

Substitute Anderson For Ghule and put the plus going to the Kings
Don't be ridiculous. Guhle is worth FAR more than Vilardi, even if Vilardi wasn't a glass body.
And power forwards are always in demand. Anderson is limited in hockey sense but GM's still like him. LA is likely not one of them though unless MB ha a lot of say in the matter.

Why is he a Lucic comparable to you? Anderson skates like the wind, Lucic looks like he has a Piano on his back...

Don't want to move Anderson, he likes Montreal and he's a good vet to keep.
I'd be more interested in a RHD for LHD swap or fringe NHLer RHD for Bottom6+pick or something like that.
Anderson is a decent player when he is going. The problem is he gets injured alot and it takes time for him to get going again. At his best Anderson is well worth his contract. Injured prone Anderson isn't worth close to his contract. I think Montreal would have to retain at lease 40% to get someone to take him. No team has ever retained money for that long, so it isn't happening. He would look good on Edmonton at 3.3 million

Kane McDavid Yamamoto
Anderson Draisaitl Hyman
Holloway RNH Puljujarvi
Foegele McLeod Klostin

Cap doesn't work but gives they Oilers grit on every line

No chance we retain for that long.
He missed 13 games last year + 4 the other years, 17 total since he's a Habs. Not to bad considering he also played 22 playoffs games

Would you trade Josh Anderson to LA for Gabriel Vilardi and one of their RHD.

Montreal does this because Anderson was rumored to be on the trade block last year and allows them to clear his large salary. They acquire a young up-and-coming center and a RHD which would push one their young D to Laval.

LA does this to get a big physical winger to replace Brown for 2 players who might have to be put on waivers anyway
No. Montreal getting taken advantage of here.

I’d send Iafallo and Walker for Anderson, but that’s about it. Kings don’t really need anymore wingers. If we did trade for him though, we’d need to bring up Lias Andersson as well and have a line of Anderson - Andersson - Arvidsson.

YOu missed the easy Anderson - Andersson - Anderson-Dolan with Anderson on D

If he wants to be traded, sure. Otherwise we want to keep him.

I feel like fans of other teams think Anderson is worse than he is but many Montreal fans think he is better than he actually is. Hes a good player but like many are pointing out, that contract is scary. Hes had health worries for awhile now and the team that drafted him and loved him as a player couldnt even commit to the contract Montreal gave him

I don't think his, or many other contracts with 3+ years remaining, look quite so bad with the cap projected to skyrocket.

Anderson might be a good addition to Vegas, to replace the size & speed they lost by trading Tuch.

The upcoming core for the Kings is 19-23 year old and we trade away a 23 year old, who just breaks out, for a 28 year old garbage winger.

Well played sir

Vilardi on waivers.... geez
Who broke out?

Vilardi would be stuck behind Suzuki, Dach, Dvorak and most likely another top end C we will draft this year. He’s simply not a need as we have better options at C already

I'd do Peterson for Anderson straight up. Anderson is worth more, but those last 2 years are costly on Anderson's contract.
How come?

He will still be young when his contract expires (32) and his cap hit will be less and less obstructive for a team given the fact that the cap will surely rise in the upcoming years.

Vilardi is much better than Dach. How are Dvorak & Dach top end C’s anyway. Not too mention ANOTHER top end C ? 🤦

Gabe is too slow to play C and will be a winger during his career so its a moot point anyway.
