lol no arguments here. I'm not saying we should keep him. But if you look at how HuGo is building the team. Anderson will be one of the last players they look to move.
I don't really know what to make of JA, he skates like the wind, and is a brute of a man but somehow he finds a way to disappear for stretches of games. Then out of nowhere, he strings together a few good ones and the trend continues.

He's definitely an enigma. That's my word of the day, and I've been dying to use it lol. We've all seen when he's on, he's a power horse. I'm not expecting a Cam Neely. I just wish he would be more consistent. A player with his size and speed should be someone we notice on a regular basis.

His main attributes are his speed and size but he's not a very skilled player hence the reason he has only produced a .43 points/games played in his NHL career. The problem with our roster is that we have too many guys that are good enough for the NHL but don't move the needle that much. If JA were on a team like Tampa or Carolina his impact would be greater because he would only be a complimentary piece and whatever production they got from him would be a bonus to an already stacked team. We have him, Armia, Hoffman, Drouin, Dadonov, all earning too much for what they bring to this team as it is right now.

That is the issue. If Anderson is one of your top forwards, you're not a good team. If he uses his speed and size, he can be an excellent complimentary player. With his skill set, even if he's not scoring. He has the ability to wreak havoc on opposing defenses. For me, he's the ultimate 3rd line player. Unfortunately, on the Habs, he's needed in a top 6 role.

For this reason, I would trade him in a heartbeat if the offer was a good one. He would be valued in the same way Chiarot and Lehkonen were, great depth for a potential playoff run.

Considering we currently have the softest top 9 in the NHL. I'd probably hold off on trading him. You can't really compare him to Chariot and Lehkonen, since they were both in the last year of their contracts. We were able to eat half their salaries, which I doubt we'd do with Anderson.

With Anderson, I see a player whose legs move faster than his brain lol.
Absolutely, and his hands cant follow either.

With that said, is it a bad thing that hes flawed? Id much rather have a guy that can open space, play tough, hit and defend his teammates while scoriny 20 goals than a guy like Armia, Drouin, Dadonov, and others.

Josh Anderson mentioned that he has worked alot with Adam Nicholas over the past few months and I think you can see that materializing.
He hangs on to the puck more, seems to make better decisions with the puck and even appears more consistent.
He has been noticeable in most games this season.

He's a different player, for sure. You can him trying things out there. Good for him and us.

He doesn't have great hockey sense, offensively or defensively. All the tools, no toolbox.
He doesn’t have great hands. That limits him.

He’s fine as a secondary scorer. And he’s okay as a third wheel if you want size on your first line but he’s really a 2nd or third line player.

Moving him is not a priority because he still does have some excellent tools, but he's definitely someone who should be trade bait. Unlike some of our other bad contracts he actually has value.

He doesn't completely suck and his size will still sucker plenty of DMs.
This is how I feel about him too. Showcase him, pump up his numbers as best you can and you’ll probably get more than he’s worth at the deadline.

Needed in a top 6 role right now............can we replace him with Slaf as time goes on? You are right, he is an ultimate 3rd line guy....and when he doesn't score he hits, and defends his team mates etc

We could be on our way, to pushing him down the lineup......but for now, he can be a 2-3 line guy....

We have a ton of deadweight, and to me, Anderson is not part of that.............as you mention we have several flavors of fodder.

He's not a deceptive player. Everybody knows what he's going to do entering the zone and rushing the net with speed. You need that kind of players to create space and keep defensemen on heels.

Let's hope he's found his place on a line with Dvo and Gallagher (or with Evan's and Gallagher).

That would be huge for us, given it looks like Hughes wants to move him and his offensive numbers have to be decent to be able to do so.

Glad to see some others are noticing as well.

I loved the sequences yesterday where he got the puck fed on zone exit, he flew/muscled over the Blue and ripped it plain and simple full stride. Guy Lafleur style from the right wing. Do that often enough the D will start to give everyone a few feet on zone entry to get fancy.

I mentioned that as well in some other thread, great to see!

Like others said, he’s a keeper. He has flaws , but the fact that he brings speed and opens space for others makes him valuable for us.

He hasn't been able to establish himself on any line. Let's see what he can do over the long haul with Dvo and Gally.

Hughes was clearly trying to move him this summer, as his reply when asked by the media if he would move Anderson for a prospect was: "or for a pick."

I don’t remember seeing or hearing that.

Do you have a link or was it just a random interview?

Anderson is on my team all day long. Like you said, adds toughness and speed while scoring 20-25 goals…..I’ll take that type of player and never look back.
