I don't know why people wanted to move him. He's one of the few you keep. He is still 27.

He's in that category where you aren't actively looking to move him, but you listen to offers, and see if anything makes sense.

He might be on the wrong side of 30 by the time the Habs are good again... But I agree that there is no rush compared to a guy on an expiring contract. Toffoli was a bit older but in the same category.

Anderson would garner very good offers, that's for sure. Would bring more than Toffoli IMO, just because he's a rare breed of player in the NHL.

What are his stats playing on Suzuki right wing? Seems like a combo that we didn't see a lot.

tough, big , strong, has scoring potential just like LeClair...

You can bet they will trade him for a smurf.

Yeah, he might be highly coveted by certain teams who appear too soft for a legitimate cup run. For example, a team like Toronto would pay a premium for that, but they would probably need to pay too much given that it's a divisional rival.

I only compare to toffoli in the sense that neither really seems/seemed to want to leave, and both had multiple years left on their contract.

When J Anderson picks up speed and charges the net he is damned impressive and scares the hell out of the any dman " how am I supposed to stop this 6.3 230lbs high speed run away locomotive". It took 10 years for the habs to get one of these, so if you want him I can tell you it's really going to hurt you as in 2x 1sts + your TOP prospect+ an added 2nd just for someone to answer the phone.

He’s always good againts Toronto, need more consistency from him! Can be one of the leader with keep around.

I think he loves big games and his inconsistency is due to the lack of big games we have had. The other area is who we are playing him with. We have to be careful with stat checking when it comes to a player like Anderson. When we need him in big games, he is there for us. He's a big boy that skates well and other teams have to watch out for him in their game plan.

Until we become a playoff team again, I expect more inconsistency from Anderson. He's just that type and it's not a reason for me to move him out. I would consider a trade but it's pry away value... something we can't refuse. I support Hughes approach on this and I had the same opinion before we hired Hughes.
