I guess to Gaudreau, Calgary is just....
....an old Flame
You just Dont usually see the big ticket UFA’s willingly commit themselves long term to a bad situationI doubt winning is his primary concern. He wants to be a millionaire close to home, if he wins it'll be a bonus.
Pajama pics or I don't believe it.
"You can't quit you're fired"Flames should pull their offer off the table now
Could work, they are basically a star forward away from contending. Though it'd affect their depth as well.Carolina
Is it really Treliving's fault? It seems like Gaudreau just wanted to go elsewhere which most in the know thought would be likely for a while now.f*** you brad treliving
That was for PR. The writing on him being traded then was all over the wall. Especially playing in Toronto there was no chance he didn't knowYes he did. because he thought he would remain as a Leaf. He was surprised when the Leafs then trade him to Denver.
Just saying. What does this have to do with this thread? Thats in like 3 or 4 years lol
It’s another circumstance of letting a valuable asset go for nothing and letting externalities dictate things. Giordano… well expansion draft. Brodie… well ya know we had to contend and it happens. Hamonic… kinda sucks, even though we gave up a first for him.Is it really Treliving's fault? Well yeah he just lost his job, or should.how salty is Treleving? lol he's calling JG "John" now.
Flames are hooped with Tkachuk. Gonna have to give him a $11x8 at least to stay
Yeah, he should have at least gotten value for him but I don't think trading him was an option when you're winning the division and making a Cup run. It’s another circumstance of letting a valuable asset go for nothing and letting externalities dictate things. It’s happened time and time again the last few years. Tre’s words with Gaudreau… “well we took a risk… and it ended the way it ended” What is a GM’s job if he can’t preserve his assets? He’s constantly played the gambler and lost out.
Tough loss for the fans.
I can't help but wonder what Treliving's plan was all along though. It's not like they built that roster from the ground up. They just kind of figured they'd be competitive all of a sudden.
This is the one year they took a shot, but it's not like it was even expected. They let Gaudreau hit UFA, Tkachuk has a massive QO and all of the leverage and Tre gets caught with his dick in his hand.
Fortunately they've got a great farm system, but you gotta think he should've covered his ass.
