I want another horse to kick him in the face

Spot on. Narcissistic vainglorious jackass. Pulls his Mussolini act and impressed gormless dupes but not anyone who's seen a hockey game. Has no idea how to build at team or develop players, but the Flyers owe him $12M for the next 3 years so they will use him as the face of the franchise, after Chuck's disastrous attempt to use Hayes in the role, and now the Gritty's novelty has worn off. What a dismal period in Flyers' history the Fletcher Error was and continues to be. Hopefully they'll be able to compete realistically for a Cup again in 8-10 years. I have given up hope of another Cup in my lifetime. Sad after 50 years as a fan to have no hope at all.
I have to tell you guys something. As a Rangers fan I have no love lost for the Flyers or Flyer fans but you guys seem to have figured out Torts act long before we did. Torts often speaks of "playing the right way". What he thinks is not really "the right way". It is the way he wants because he wants to be the star of the show. He often would bench guys (Zooks, Kreider, Gaborik, etc) he thinks get more attention than he did. That is probably why he hates flashy goals. He has his whipping dogs on every team.

I always hated his act. When they were looking to replace Hakstol, I said the only two retread losers I wanted to avoid were Vigneault and Torturella. So naturally, Fletcher picked them. LOL!

I think the idea that Brìere has power is nonsense.

Torts is going to run over Frodo, and nobody other than Fletcher has actually been fired. Brìere was a move to placate the fan base.

It's really likely that the President will also be a figurehead scapegoat. Everything about how they're restructuring the team so far is nothing but red flags.

Rangers fan but I come in peace. Just curious about Torts. I think most hockey fans know he has a limited shelf life. He usually is liked in the first year and by the 2nd or 3rd year the stubbornness shows. So after 1 year do Flyers fans/players see him as part of your future?

He f***ing sucks so hard. There are no words. Our happiest moment of the season was when a horse kicked him in the head.

good postgame interview ..... Torts should get 2 or 3 yrs to get it right

this is gonna take time to undo all the wrong by hexy and fletch, poor drafting(patrick) pissing away pics, imho signing malcontents (hayes, tda)

patience is a virtue or it's gonna have to be

He's not gonna get it right. He thinks the problem is that there aren't even more grinders. That's what he's publicly asked to have more of. The one thing the team doesn't need.

Think what he's saying if you're going to rebuild the right way, you can't try to win through quick fixes, you have to work through the losing and not lose your young players doing so.

I don't think Torts is "anti-skill", rather, he just wants to establish a clubhouse where effort, discipline and playing the right way is the norm, so when you add skill players, that environment encourages them to develop into players like G and Crosby, rather than prima donnas who put their stats before the team.

Again he is blatantly anti skill....

Video proof of it.

Stop defending him.

Uh no, he's anti skill. He's gone on tirades against skill. His actions match. You should believe him when he tells you and shows you who he is for 20 years, instead of fabricating fiction about him.

Building for culture over skill is building a loser.

I think he says a bunch of cliche shit that means nothing, and ultimately he doesn't have a clue how to coach in 2023.
His most notable coaching moves were benching Canadian players for the one game out of 82 where they would have played in front of their families, and then denying he knew where they were from.

Frost and Sanheim should get to 81 games played this season.

I think Torts point on the cute play was the same reason a lot of basketball coaches hate fancy dunks, how often do you see a player try an ESPN highlight move and end up blowing the two points? Same way, players who haven't mastered the basics of offensive play shouldn't be wasting practice time working on their "Michigan."

First, become competent, things like shooting accuracy, deflecting shots, making passes on the blade of your teammate's stick, etc. Then once you have the basics down, then you can get creative. A lot of young players would rather get cute than put in the hard, boring work of polishing their fundamental skills.

There are things McJesus does that I'd kill most of my players for trying, b/c they aren't going to pull that off in a game very often, and will end up turning the puck over on a regular basis. Now if I had a McDavid, different rules apply.
