You could argue he should have had the 5 hole goal by svech on the PP, but then again he made some big save all series. People do like to hate mob when they can though there are some weird media members/people out there.

Those thinking Adin Hill would be the gamechanger in this series. I got a Darnell Nurse, Morgan Rielly, Linus Ullmark contracts to sell ya.

Ironically, Ullmark was excellent in the playoffs.

No, he just thinks his job is to coach games, not to be a press secretary. He's dedicated to and good at what he thinks is his actual job, and protects his guys from the part that he himself can't stand and doesn't think either he or they should have to deal with.

Really doesn’t matter what he “thinks”, part of his job is to talk to the media.

Do you do only what you think you should do or do you what your boss tells you.

Torts is a grade A a-hole

I don't think it's crazy to consider Hill. Sometimes you just have to give the opposition a different look.

Being loyal to a goalie because of what they did in previous rounds can be a costly mistake.

It doesn't mean Hill is a better goalie or that Hart is bad, but sometimes I think change is good.

Bussi was the right move. I remember Pittsburgh getting shelled with Fleury in net against Ottawa, despite his performance in previous rounds, and they wisely and against the wishes of a surprising number of their fans, put Matt Murray in, who closed out the series.

Because it takes pressure off the players. You are talking about him now instead of the players.

It’s crazy how many people don’t understand that Torts is a master deflector.

This would be his response 10 out of 10 times regardless of whether he actually thought about putting Hill in or not because he knows how important it is to stand up and back his players.

You say that as if people will forget that he was talking about Carter Hart sucking or that he has such low confidence in Adin Hill that he won't put them in even despite Hart's struggles. We're "talking about Torts," but we know the context of the conversation.

It's a horrible position to be in. Do you switch goalies with the season on the line? What if Hill isn't on the top of his game due to time off? Everyone will question why you made that decision when they did.

Carolina was basically forced to put Bussi in. Andersen allowed 6 goals in a period (2 disallowed on a challenge) and was rocking an .805 series save percentage. Rod is stubborn but Bussi gets put in and takes the game to OT. Then Andersen gets injured or needs time off or whatever is going on with him.

Now, they can't take him out because he's playing well. Hart hasn't collapsed like Andersen did yet and now they have no margin for error. I think the safer move would have been to go Hill in Game 5 instead of Game 6 with the season on the line.

Everyone up in arms here meanwhile Jonny Laz (who asked the question) literally said it was the greatest thing that ever happened to him on his show this morning
Exactly. He had his i guess thats what i'm sayin brooksy, moment with Torts. It's entertainment

Never understood why Torts is such an ass when he is being asked a legit question, your goalie has been complete dog poo this series, giving up 4 goals each game.

I have a mutual friend with Torts, I asked my friend this same question. He said he likes to take the headlines away from the team so the media focuses on his bullshit instead

I don’t know if Torts said that but that was the response I got

Torts is a phenomenal dude btw

If only there was a precedent for Adin Hill coming in mid-playoffs and going on a heater for the Vegas Golden Knights.

So many bad takes. Woof.

Both Hill and Hart were out with injuries for much of the season. Hill came back first and it was apparent that it was too soon and he played like a shadow of his former self. The more he played, the worse he got.

Ultimately, Hart came back and played much better. Hart could probably use a break, but even a tired Hart is about five times more effective than Hill was in his last days.

After two months of rest, is there a chance that Hill is anything like his best self? Only the coaching staff knows. That they aren't playing Hill tells us that most likely he is not.

My perception is that Hart isn't playing so badly but the Canes are breaking down the defense in front of him. One FUBAR after another for the Knights defense. But of course some folks jsut look at the box score and immediately opine that the goalie sucks.

He should get over himself, nothing wrong with going to the other goalie when the other has been historically bad. The fake tough-guy/angry Italian bravado persona isn't as cool as he thinks.

Probably doesn’t want Hart to lose confidence but yes there is better ways of answering that question lol

Yep. Most people here missing the forest for the trees.

This is a deliberate tactic from Torts and he's done it for years. He does something egregious so the conversation and scrutiny is on him, and deflected away from his players.

This is obvious to anyone who knows the league.
