Come on, Holmgren. We released the coach your team needs. Now, release the coach we need.

Big no to AV from me.

Ruff? Yes. Eakins? Yes. Tippett? You betcha.

Why Ruff? He was in Buffalo for 15 years and really only ~ Half of the time were his seasons "successful". I don't think that this team would benefit much more with Ruff behind the reins. Doesn't mean he *can't* do a good job here. I just think it's unlikely.

Ruff has lost his players too many times. Post lockout his teams have been loaded with skill and they vanish. The 2007 CF was one of the worst coaching jobs I ever saw. He sat his guys back and let Ottawa dictate play (sound familiar).

Vanek, Roy, Miller, Stafford all disappeared every other year under him. No thanks.

Zipay: Sather says he's considering Mike Francessa as coach.

Francessa - I'd be honid to coach dis team.

How do people even listen to Francesca let alone watch his tv show? Such an annoying voice. It's too bad Gaborik is gone now but we needed those players in return.

Q: Public questioning a factor?

A: There wasn’t one specific reason. It was the choice of how we are going to get better and move forward. It wasn’t one specific thing.

We can point to a lot of factors in why Torts was fired. It's the right move but it was done for 1 reason. Torts questioned the roster. This was an ego move (not that i disagree with it) but Sather let the cat out of the bag by not answering with a simple no when asked the above question.

I don't disagree with the move but I think Torts questioning Sather is the reason. All the other reasons are secondary to Sather....

Sather admits Torts was not expecting to be fired. "It's a bit of a shock. I don't think he was prepared for it."

Answer one question always leads to so many more. These questions however, are the right ones to be asking and the ones necessary to ultimately win a Stanley Cup.

GMs do have a shelf life but who's calling the shots in the end? Dolan? If Dolan was arrogant enough to assume cup is near last year, why would be consider Glen a bad GM?

Sather needs to look in the mirror if he thinks that John Tortorella is what was holding him back from challenging for the Cup. Delusional.

How can you really blame Sather? From an outsider's perspective I think he's done an amazing job. I'd kill to have him as my team's GM. On paper the Rangers should be contenders, they have everything, just the offense didn't flow. You can't blame Sather for that, he gave Torts the pieces and Torts didn't produce with them.

For your sake and the franchise's, I hope Ruff is completely out of the question.
