How do people even listen to Francesca let alone watch his tv show? Such an annoying voice. It's too bad Gaborik is gone now but we needed those players in return.

Waitaskin!!! Waitaskin!!!you waited an ouwer on da phone to tell me dis.
Yoor laust wit dis. I broke rekids wit da ratings. I’m da Mick of Spauts. Tauk.
Get laust you loosa.

Back afta dis

When we brought in Torts we thought he was gonna open up the offense, right?

The Rangers didn't make such a big change because of "Hanks comments." It must have been some sort of conversation Hank had with Sather.

sounds like Torts was let go because he plateaued much in the way Renney plateaued when he was let go. Renney did great work for the Rangers but it was clear the team was no longer improving with him. Time to level up, only I'm not sure if there is a coach that fits what we are looking for. I'd want someone like Babcock or Carlyle who clearly are't available. Of course, Scotty Bowman is clearly my top choice. :D

Good coach, but, his mouth and demeanor, got him fired. I'm sure something got into him after dealing with NYC media, I don't think he was (seemingly) a butthole like this in Tampa.

Sounds about right. And more reasons to be upset with this move.

As always, Glen Sather, blindfolded and wildly chucking darts at a dartboard.

Pretty sad that after all these years with the organization, he still doesn't have a strategy.

Tortorella's input was crucial to improving the team when Sather actually listened. Maybe the criticism of the roster did eventually get to Sather. It wouldn't surprise me if he hires a less vocal yes-man as the next head coach. Dolan doesn't question Sather so the coach can't either.

Wow maybe the rangers can play a real offensive game with all that talent they have, this is the best news for the rangers.

the 2nd endorsement from a penguins fan. I think they know what the right coach can do to take you to the next level.

I've been critical of the pens in the past, but I tip my hats to them and their fans.

I want them to take out Boston!!!

Definitely shocked. I didn't think it would happen this season.

Listening to this joke of a conference call with and I have only one thing to say and that is, "I hope Torts tells both Sather and Dolan to go **** themselves!"

I really can't see how anyone would want Boucher here, you might as well kept Torts.

Ron Wilson? Really? Or former players with no coaching experience? Are we gluttons for punishment? Wow.

I think the clear cut candidates obviously are Vigneault, Ruff and I hope Tippet is on there too.

But I live in AB and seen a ton of Canuck games, so that said I would like Vigneault here next season for sure. Hope he gets it.

Dave Tippet is the only coach out there that I'd be excited about coming in here.

Which means, there better not be a new coach here before June 30th.

Which also means Sather doesnt have interest in Tippet, because he just said he wants a new coach here before the Draft (June 30th).

Unless hes lying. Which hes very good at.

New York sports media is by far the worst in the world and I don't blame him for being a dick to those idiots.

His firing is (hopefully) about the on-ice product, not the media.

uh conference calls are horrible, get some better phones. most of them are probably use cells. can't hear anything.

If by Sather's logic any season where you're not in the Cup final then the season is not a success, how can anyone argue that his tenure has been a success? By his own standard he's been a failure here.

I'm certainly not a Sather apologist, and I'd be happy to see him gone.

That said, I'd imagine that he would agree with you.
