Doesnt have mental lapses like DZ.

I'd take MDZ over Moore in every single circumstance, every single game. And I've been critical of MDZ's streaky play. But c'mon. Moore is a nice piece for right now, but the guy makes the kind of bizarre decisions you see from players that bounce around the league and stick around <7 seasons.

And when he gets the puck on his stick in the defensive zone, if he doesn't have skating room or an easy outlet, holy hell the guy makes some weak plays.

Really can't even reply to this

Moore has been very good since his arrival. Has made minimal mistakes - compared to Del Zotto who made a sweet pass to Gerbe last night for example.

Stralman is also criminally underrated by this fanbase. Arguably one of the best bottom pairing defenseman in the NHL.

The common denominator here is too very young athletes that play the most demanding position out side of NHL goal tender in all of sport.

I'll take their mistakes along with all the good that they bring.

Matters not who/what Moore was before he got here. Nor if Moore's dusting of Skille was an aberration. It lifted the bench, the faithful and helped us win.

He's helping us win. That's all that matters

Moore has been much "cooler" with the puck than MDZ. MDZ derps a lot.

Why play John Moore, Ryan McDonagh or Anton Stralman on the PP when we can put Girardi there!!!!

Of all the questionable decisions Tortorella made this season, his insistence on putting Girardi on the power play perplexed me far more than the rest. I cannot fathom any reasonable justification.

We have to rest our top defensemen. We don't want them out of the ice in situations where they're not needed and in situations where they could be resting for a full two minutes instead.

I was following Savard more closely that this kid, because of the positional need. However, I read recently that the rangers specifically targeted Moore over Savard in the trade. Although that puzzles me a bit, it speaks volumes to this kid's potential short and long term.

I didn't think the DZ-Stralman pair looked good last couple of games, I'd pair DZ with Moore on the 2nd pair. Moore has the skating skills to erase a lot of mistakes.

I'd also give him some PP time, he has the shot to do some damage from the point.

Moore saw shifts with Stralman in the first period with DZ paired with Eminger. In the FLA game,Moore played with G when Torts cut down to 5 D with Eminger the odd man out. The Rangers are getting a look at Moore with different players.

He maintains the zone, which (as someone suggested regarding Callahan playing superstar minutes in another thread, which was spot-on) is more of a reflection on our roster--he's there because we have alms 0 transition game. Del Zotto is the most skilled with the puck, but is likewise terrified of the puck...

Everyone loves the prospect of McIlrath making the team, but it won't make us much better. We have a shutdown blueline, with tremendous size and physicality that doesn't match... mostly very mobile... not great at transitioning the play... but they're good on D. It's the system we play... you don't need to have much skill, just be able to skate/push/stay in position, and you too will be a star... BTW it won't win us a Cup, and Torts is more conservative than Renney was.

Moore has been phenomenal and has absolutely steadied the D even in the absence of Staal. With Staal back and Eminger as the 7, this is a very, very good D. Even without Dorsett having dressed a single game, the Rangers have done very well out of the sign, play and then trade Gaborik process.

Moore should play on the powerplay. He's got a good shot. He's a good passer. And his speed can create all kinds of havoc. I can't fathom why Girardi still plays on the pp. He's not even good at keeping the puck in.

He can't even handle simple passes, every pass to his stick takes an extra second or two to settle down.

cause he has the A on his jersey and is a veteran :amazed:, and because of Torts... a normal coach wouldnt put him on the PP at all :help:
