only problem is now the gaping hole at center. think with time Wennberg/Karlsson can complement Dubinsky as 1/2/3 but I hope they aren't ruined by the organization rushing them into roles above their abilities.

not sure if torts is planning on moving jenner to center, though.

Campbell moves back to 4th line C for this season

Hope we win lottery and get Mathews for next year, if not time will tell

Seth Jones is an RFA this summer, so we get to see yet another young superstar find his character assassinated by idiots for having the temerity to ask to be paid what he is actually worth

buwahahah, Seth Jones is a superstar? Thanks I needed that.

I'm sure Jones is going to get a bridge deal and I doubt he'll fight it. Well unless Jones wants to get paid around 3.5 for a while.

Have we ever traded with Nashville before (excluding draft pick trades)? I feel as if we have, and I am forgetting.

I'm surprised people are physically ill at the thought of losing Johansen.

I'm physically ill because i'm just beyond excited to be getting Seth Jones.

Not liking this AT ALL! Johan has been in a slump, but it isn't like Nashville has been all that happy with Jones either.

This season the guy has 1 goal, 10 assists, and is a -5. Now those might be good numbers on a CBJ team, but on a historically strong defensive team like the Preds, those don't look to damn good. They expected much more from him then they have been getting.

And, oh so quickly, how we forget Johans all-star season last year.

Jackets fans will rue the day this trade was made.

I get the feeling we're not done this week. We've now got some excess on the blue line.

For Johansen's sake I hope he comes back and makes us wish we didn't move him. The perfect scenario is that both players make their teams regret moving them.

Most should know I despise the Preds, however I do actually like Johansen. I wish him nothing but the best and I want to see many 30 goal seasons out of him.

Maybe this is the permanent plan. Sign talent to a bridge deal, trade talent away before bridge deal ends for an impending RFA. Sign RFA to bridge-deal, trade him away before the bridge deal ends... in perpetuity

Win-win?

Not getting anything back leaves somewhat of a hole at center. Yes we have options but, I would have rather seen at least Wilson or a prospect coming back....

My God why?

Jones by himself is worth more than Jones & Wilson. Wilson's contract is horrid. We get a great Dman and free up cap space now, and most likely in the future by not having to give Joey the 9 mil he'll want. Bringing Wilson on takes all those advantages away.

I think its pretty obvious the Jenner gets moved back to C.

For the billionth time JENNER IS A NATURAL CENTER. HE HAS PLAYED CENTER HIS ENTIRE CAREER UNTIL THE NHL.

This team is going to play like it did in the shortened and playoffs seasons. No real #'ed lines. Rolling 3 #2A lines, except this time our 4th line is a legitmate 4th line, not a 3rd line on most teams.

Well. You guys got what you want. When he scores 30 goals and becomes an everyday 70-80 point center, you're going to yell and scream while we continue to watch Seth Jones stay as a top 4 defenseman and nothing better. Whatever man. I'm sick of this franchise and I'm sick of this front office. I'm not renewing season tickets next year (probably wasn't going to anyway) but this seals it. What a disaster

This feels a lot like when we got JJ. Not the player we sent obviously (although that was another great center and Johansen isn't a jackass).

Having said that I think Jones has more upside than JJ did at the time of the deal(s).

This team can burn in hell. They just lost the only CBJ fan from Sweden. I'm finally done with this crap:

Just wanted to say, when Johansen is playing in the playoffs, and Jones is sitting at home with a -20; this trade is going to look really bad. And Jones isn't going to change this teams problems.

And now, some dumbass GM is going to be fine having 4 dmen, with I might add only a couple years experience between them; to start the season next year. Oh and no 1st line center or 1st line sniper. Guess thats bad news for Saad. Oh well, he can be our new Rick Nash!

Saad needs a Center <--- 1st.

Dont think so. They already told Joey if he plays up to par, they have no trouble paying the kid. His attitude wasnt up to par.

I like what I saw of his game at center, having said that I'm not sure if Torts is in a rush for that. Dubinsky and Wennberg probably start as the 1/2. We have Karlsson and Campbell in the bottom six for now.

We've been playing around with stuff like this for a while. Johansen has been on wing quite a bit and I remember seeing Campbell on wing as well.

this isn't the first time a player with great talent has been traded....in any and every sport, and won't be the last

He didn't want to be here......what was the front office left to do?
