Develops into Chara? That was last year. This year he's worth more now and if he develops into a Chara, he's a worth a kings ransom.
I find it entertaining that people who don't know squat about hockey try to troll.

Those takes are bad. No way I'd argue otherwise. Lots of bad takes on the other end of the spectrum. Realistically, I wouldn't trade him at this point. He's an interesting enough player to keep as his trade value has taken a hit recently. I'd rather keep him and risk him busting, than move him for even a 2nd. Big overpayment like a mid 1st? Sure, he's gone. That won't happen though.WTF?
Are you guys actually serious?
i thought those went for petry and allen. No the Anderson one went for Chiarot instead and the Xhekaj one went for Monahan.
I can certainly get on board with your take. The guy has size and a mean streak and if he can become a solid dman, (even bottom pairing) would be well worth holding on to. I’m not a hater at all, but was shocked at those couple of takes. Those takes are bad. No way I'd argue otherwise. Lots of bad takes on the other end of the spectrum. I'm glad we have our NJ crew clogging up the thread, as usual. They sure add a lot. Not referring to you, obviously.
1. to be a crew you need at least three people. I suggest watching more heist moviesThose takes are bad. No way I'd argue otherwise. Lots of bad takes on the other end of the spectrum. Why? Because the guy can be seen as a potentially highly valuable top 4 or as waiver fodder, and both outcomes are quite possible. Why is there so much discussion about the value of a guy who has difficulty cracking the top six of the worst d in the league?
I am not even being a hater. Yes, he is a tough guy and I like the player, but having a Dman as your enforcer is a bad idea. It doesn't add to his value.
Thanks. I guess I don't see the top four upside and don't know what it might be based on.Why? Because the guy can be seen as a potentially highly valuable top 4 or as waiver fodder, and both outcomes are quite possible.
I will not agree with this. Having a physical player is a good thing. In the game against the Oilers, they were dominating the Habs then Xhejak nailed Hyman with a hard hit. The game started to turned around for the Habs after the hit. Having big, physical players is always a good thing, defenseman or not.Why is there so much discussion about the value of a guy who has difficulty cracking the top six of the worst d in the league?

Glad you aren't the gmI doubt Montreal would trade Wifi for 13th overall.
Some serious homer takes in here , everybody loves X and I think he's an NHL'er and has been playing well recently but we gotta relaxNot trading Xhekaj for a top 15 pick is crazy talk Hughes would easily pull the trigger i like X but hes not that special
Dude its two guys lolWow!!
Xhekaj, a bit part #6/7 AHL Level d-man, would apparently demand a high/mid 1st round pick (5-10 range according to some). He is even being compared to Chara FFS
What is in the water in MTL?
My point wasn't that you don't want a tough guy on the team, my point was that when he does his job and goes off and gets 2 and a 5, or 10 or game miscibility then you are playing with 5 D. That is far worse than playing with 11 F.I will not agree with this. Having a physical player is a good thing. I guess there are a lot of people in here who can't read.
Chara drafted 56th
Check his stats at 23 with the islanders....82 games...9 points...157 pm
For 4 years he went nowhere with the Islanders and broke out with the Sens.
How old is Xhekaj? He may develop...or NOT. But the reaction is ignorant of hockey history. .

Reading is hard....
It means he needs to be smart and not just take on all takers, but if he can be an effective player and also a physical deterrent, he can have value. My point wasn't that you don't want a tough guy on the team, my point was that when he does his job and goes off and gets 2 and a 5, or 10 or game miscibility then you are playing with 5 D. Look at his last game: he was steady, made good calls on the ice, played a simple, complementary shutdown role, and could be a #4 guy if the other 3 are skilled. If Guhle along with 2 of Reinbacher, Hutson and Mailloux are the Habs top 3, Xhekaj could be fine as a top 4.Thanks. I guess I don't see the top four upside and don't know what it might be based on.
