Armia can be as pissed as he wants, this could have been avoided by him actually giving a shit and playing with any heart whatsoever. He only has himself to blame.

The guy has been coasting for years. Time to go ride the bus.
Yep, I don't buy the injury or covid excuse when he plays like Lemieux everytime he puts a Finnish jersey on.

Pretty sure Armia likes physical play bettering the playoffs and pretty sure he has zero affinity to it in preseason.

Suspect he thought he was playing in the NHL, forsure, at 3.4M and had the foot off the accelerator in preseason. Couple cute plays without scoring must have felt like the required display of skills to seal the deal.

Just not the case, apparently.

Yoel is on waivers - that’s blasphemy!!!

So what happens if he doesnt get claimed? Are they actually sending him to Laval? I don’t see it. He’s got too many of them intangibles.

We really went to Armia is worth keeping let's not trade him.
We went to Armia can fit in the top 6 and (yes ive seen those posts from some posters here a while back)
Just to end up as dead cap and on waivers

Literally called it the day the Deadline ended up in that covid season.

Paid for 2 goals in the playoffs.
Paid for past glory , this is how you make a bad team.

Surprised to see Lindstrom waived. Thought a young RD on a cheap contract with 128 NHL games under his belt would be able to hold on to that #7 spot.

I admit to being wrong on thinking they would keep him over Norlinder or Barron who are both waiver exempt.

Habs still need to cut 2 players from the roster to reach 23, those two might be Norlinder and Barron.

Why is this news? That’s been Armia’s issue since being drafted by Buf / only reason he fell to mid 1st round & why he’s in his 3rd org

Allen was extended by Hughes, no way he waives him.
Well if Primeau is good enough to be a backup, Allen's either getting waived this year or next. Might as well waive him now.

Besides, there will be injuries and Primeau may not play well. So Allen wouldn't be in Laval all year. It's the business they're in when they sign a contract and don't play up to it.

It is still possible to demote, in addition to Heineman, BOTH Norlinder and Barron so they can play real minutes in Laval, and bring a cleared Lindstrom back up to take the press box seat.

If there is room for 3 on the roster, I would make Primeau earn the full backup role by playing well in the 25% of games he would get, better than Allen in HIS 25%.

Monty would get 50% of the games initially, but he would be well-advised to be focused and sharp.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Lindstrom again soon, if he clears waivers, to be the 7th D.

My guess is they will send down Heineman and Norlinder.
They will put Dvorak on LTIR and Wideman on IR.
I think sending down Lindstrom and Xhekaj will get them 110K under the cap.

Once the cap compliance deadline has passed and Price is put on LTIR, they can send down Armia and Barron and recall Xhekaj, and maybe Lindstrom.
Unless there are other trades today...
