The only real way to get out of the Gallagher contract is to convince him to waive his NMC so we can buy him out which I doubt he will do.

Not saying it won't work but I have seen this happen in extremely rare cases. Both parties can just agree to terminate the contract and Armia leaves. However, he won't just leave all those millions on the table. So, he might just play in Laval until the Habs buy him out next summer.
