I'm praying that he will refuse to report to Laval...

I don't see him ever going to Laval. This is either a paper transaction move for cap reasons, and he's staying in Montreal or else Montreal loans him for the year to a Finnish team.

If he's loaned, does it take the contract year of this season meaning he only have one season left?

Somewhere on earth in a hospital
They don't have to. Norlinder, Heineman, Barron and Harris are waivers free. Slaf, too. Two of them will go to Laval to start the season, unless they can trade Primeau OR Ylonen, OR Pearson or any other players.

Allen is one of the rare vet leaders left on this team.

Montombeau is close to 30

And I used the word "leaders"... Dvorak, Pearson, Anderson are not leaders And Gally, not anymore.

Or, if they sit him for the first 15-20 games, you'll see how quickly he waives his NMC
Nobody will trade for him with his heavy contract.

My guess for the next couple of days:

Armia and Lindström clear waivers

To Laval (some are paper transactions):

RHP, Guhle, Barron, Norlinder, Harris, Heineman

That gives them a cap compliant roster of 13 forwards, 5 defenceman, 3 goalies ($20,417 under the Cap).

They then put Price on LTIR. Dvorak and Wideman go on IR.

They call RHP, Guhle, Harris, and Norlinder back to start the season.

This leaves them with 13 forwards, 7 defenceman, and 3 goalies to start the season.

Gallagher is on the hot seat, Roy and Heineman are pushing for a spot.

There's a way to have 10 000$ under the cap if you keep Barron to start the year.

I can't believe Hughes actually did it, the mad man. Still sucks because he will most likely play top 6 minutes in Laval and take up a kids spot... Kinda sucks but I hope he doesn't report to Laval lol

Gallagher and Price are the last really bad contracts. The Habs will let the contracts run out on their own.
Since Price is permanently on LTIR, there is at least a chance that he could get dealt at some point to a team needing extra cap space (similar to how the Habs dealt Weber to LV). Barring an injury that puts Gallagher in the same situation, it will be almost impossible to move that contract.
