Well, when hes ready. As Guerrero showed, just because you are mashing AA pitching (or even AAA) doesnt mean you are ready.

At least McGuire has been hitting since Jansen went down, but if Moreno was able to produce the way Vladdy did when he first came up, then he’d still be a top 10 catcher.

New Hampshire is just tearing Hartford a new one. 15-2.

Martin 5 for 6, 2 doubles, 2 runs, 4 RBI
Lopez 3 for 5, BB, double, 2 RBI
Moreno 2 for 5, HR, run, 3 RBI

Groshans with an off night with just a walk in 5 plate apperances

Pitching against that lineup must suck. Excellent first five in the batting order.

Chavez Young has been doing well too.

'It slipped away': Blue Jays' Manoah didn't intend to hit Orioles' Franco - Sportsnet.ca

The benches cleared and tempers flared between the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles after Alek Manoah hit Maikel Franco in the arm with a pitch.

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah says he didn’t intend to hit Baltimore Orioles third baseman Maikel Franco with the pitch that led to his ejection from Saturday’s game.

The right-handed rookie told reporters that he was looking to throw a fastball on the inner part of the plate, but it “slipped away,” leading to a fourth-inning flare up between the two clubs.

“I’m just out there competing,” said Manoah.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde, meanwhile, told reporters post-game that he believed Manoah’s pitch was intentional and Ryan Mountcastle called it a “red flag.”

Following the play, an umpire escorted a visibly upset Franco away from Manoah, who was walking toward home plate. Both benches cleared soon after.

Players and coaches from the Orioles and Blue Jays gathered near home plate, exchanging words. No physical altercations appeared to take place.

The Blue Jays trailed 5-2 at the time and were back 7-5 in the ninth, but they rallied to snap a five-game skid with a 10-7 victory.

Evaluating trade options for struggling but talented Blue Jays team - Sportsnet.ca

But counting on that kind of resurgence from a pitcher who’s averaging one home run allowed for every nine hitters he faces is beyond dangerous, which is why the Blue Jays are also exploring the market for higher-tier relievers. From the outside looking in, Richard Rodriguez of the Pirates, Paul Fry of the Orioles, Kendall Graveman of the Mariners, Ian Kennedy of the Rangers and Ross Detwiler of the Marlins would all appear to be upgrades.

Yet non-contending teams have so far maintained high asking prices for the veteran relievers on their rosters, according to sources. And until the July 31 deadline draws closer, there’s little reason for them to move off that stance. With that in mind, bounce-back candidates like Barnes and internal options like Patrick Murphy and Tayler Saucedo are the ones getting chances for now.

Eventually, it’s the job of the front office to make the most of this promising young core, high asking prices or not. Ultimately the goal is winning playoff berths and championships – not coming out ahead in every last trade.

But even if other teams might ask about Jordan Groshans or Nate Pearson, that doesn’t mean the Blue Jays will have to overpay. In fact, their own recent history at the deadline suggests veteran relievers should eventually be available for more modest prospect returns.

Consider the following trades, which included fringe pitching prospects performing well at the upper minors, low-level fliers and, in Forrest Wall, a former top prospect who had fallen on hard times…

• Joe Smith, 2017 – for Thomas Pannone, AA starter; Samad Taylor, rookie ball infielder
• Aaron Loup, 2018 – for Jacob Waguespack, AAA starter
• John Axford, 2018 – for Corey Copping, AAA reliever
• Seunghwan Oh, 2018 – for Forrest Wall, AA outfielder; Chad Spanberger Class A first baseman
• David Phelps, 2019 – for Thomas Hatch, AA starter
• Daniel Hudson, 2019 – for Kyle Johnston, A+ starter

If those trades hint at what’s to come, the Blue Jays won’t need to part with their top-rated prospects to add veterans to the bullpen. Applying that same logic to the Blue Jays’ current system, triple-A players like Zach Logue, Kevin Smith and Logan Warmoth appear to be more reasonable trade targets for non-contenders in the weeks ahead.

Yet regardless of what happens in the bullpen, there are other needs to consider in the weeks ahead. The starting pitching market currently looks weak, and as long as the Blue Jays hover near the .500 mark, it’s hard to see them parting with top prospects for rentals there, either.

Ball boys normally dont travel with the team. Sometimes the home team would supply the visiting team with a ball boy who is wearing the home team's colors. This is a normal practice, but i will say the guy in the picture is a little big for a ball boy so it could be something else. Medical staff?

Interesting info, thanks. I thought maybe he was cleaning staff or something. Never knew that about ball boys though.

How long can they keep him there
Think I should grab him in a keep six keeper league?

My for sure keepers are story turner bellinger. Then I have a bunch of bleh and the options are thor, wheeler, snell (ugh), castillo, lux.

If moreno is the legit prospect I might as well stash considering injuries have f***ed me this season.

I thought about this the other day. Were so deep at catcher, if both Moreno and Kirk rake(or maybe Jansen figures something out) how do you get them both more at bats in the majors. I like getting him some reps in the field since he played SS before we signed him and moved him to catcher.

Maybe he literally becomes Josh Donaldson who also came up as a catcher initially

Interesting as hell, but I'm still holding out hope he's primarily C going forward. His bat plus the rave reviews at defense feels like almost a lock for a top-5 at the position.

3B is a much steeper climb.

Yeah I'm not expecting a full time 3B or anything, but if he's competent enough we can run him out there 30 times, and run Kirk at DH 60 times now suddenly we have 252 games combined between the 2 rather than just them splitting 162.

Atkins says he is waiting for trade later? lol when its too late. I only say this if he thinks they can win this year. My opinion says its going to be very tough to make it this year. We would have to go on an unbelievable run to hit 85 wins etc

with clase's emergence in Cleveland do you think James Karinchak becomes available they always look to save money even in the middle of a season

and with the twins struggling do think they might entertain a swap for grich and kepler personally i find it doubtful. but it be nice to get a another lefty bat. i know he has struggled the last couple years but it would give us a lefty option in the outfield once springer came back
