Yates too although he was a big gamble.

This stretch has been painful to watch but it isn’t that bad. If the bullpen didn’t suck Jays could have won two maybe three games this series.

The fact that they were in control for so many of them only to lose them late in spectacular fashion makes it feel way worse than a 6-game losing streak.

A week ago, they had swept Atlanta, took 2 of 3 against the Phillies, and then beat the shit out of Boston to Take the opener and move to within half a game of the division lead. They weren't the best team in the league then, and they aren't the worst team in the league now. They're a good but flawed young team going through a tough stretch. It's painful, but it'll turn around.

montoyo and his "just happy to be here" attitude need to gtfo..his super positive post game shit is just so out of touch.

The Jays have a few great hitters a couple of good pitchers and a so-so manager. They'll be a 500 or so team until the patch up the holes.

The worst part is the Sportsnet announcers and their refusal to call out the many brain farts of players and manager.

i just hope management is watching closely, man i really wished they had hired francona when he was available, im pretty sure montoyo is only here because he can communicate with our young latino players, because some of his in game management is ridiculious.

I think we are still fine when you consider we haven't yet played any crappy teams. We have the ammo to acquire an arm like Barrios and a rental RP or two and then just go beat up on Baltimore, Detroit and Minnesota down the stretch. Not to mention Manoah will be up soon too.

What he says to the team in the room after the game is way more important than anything he says to the media.

obviously, but we have lost 6 in a row with some terrible collapses, its ok to show frustration and not be good with losing..i just dont think hes got a killer instinct. but at the end of the day its about the results and some of his in game decisions are pretty bad. i just dont see him as a manager on a championship team.

Not to mention Hatch and Borucki should be back soon and if Pearson does well in AAA he should be back as well.

There are too many guys in the bullpen that suck. Castro isn't too bad in lower leverage situations but he shouldn't be in high leverage situations. Montoyo doesn't have a lot of options. Murphy is another guy that could help the bullpen.

Kay for Mayza
Borucki for Bergen
Hatch for Beasley

That is a big improvement to the bullpen

I just checked Twitter and luckily I found it. Will need a spot on the 40 man roster. I would punt Beasley.
I stumbled upon it 20 secs after it was tweeted. nice little (shocking) surprise lol. You could say that about half the relievers currently... :sarcasm:

I know he hasnt been great this year, but i'm still hopeful Stripling can be a solid contributor at the bottom of our rotation. Was great today.

It's quite obvious he is not a good game manager regardless of what he says behind closed doors.

I didn't say otherwise (though I DO think that part tends to be overstated quite a lot at this point - aside from the bunting he's been OK this year.)

That’s why they are management. No knee jerk reactions. We’ve had massive injury issues and mostly to the pen. It’s finally started to bleed through. It’s frustrating as hell seeing them blow leads like that and especially to Tampa. Just got to hope they rebound quickly and find that random pen luck again soon. Bats also need to come to life a little more too.
Is calling him up now a knee jerk reaction? The situation hasn't changed since yesterday when people here were saying the Jays were smart to leave him down after only 3 starts.

Absolutely. If he's ever healthy throw Pearson into the mix. You could be working with worse.
Big if ... I've been a Jays fans long enough to know a lemon when I see it. Have a feeling this kid will probably go the route of Carpenter or Leiter where he's finally healthy after the Jays give up on him

As someone who was fine with calling him up, I don't think it's knee-jerk.

I think a lot of people act like 2020 didn't happen for prospects, and it did happen... it just wasn't in a normal way and we don't have our normal information about it.

Stuff like "Only x amount of innings at full season ball", etc. is a little disingenuous because it completely leaves out last year's progress.
