That's kind of a scary sounding injury for Biggio.

Also yay that Espinal doesn't get sent down to activate Panik. Though you know that Charlie will insist on putting him into the lineup even though Espinal has been pretty good lately and better than Panik on the whole.

He won't put in Espinal because he can't lay down a bunt.

Espinal starting at 3B tonight is a great sign.

At this point the obsession with Panik and the infuriating bunt decisions are the only things that drive me nuts about Montoyo. His lineups have been good (actually pretty close to perfect, most days) and his bullpen usage has been mostly excellent.

I think that's what bugs me the most about the bunts and Panik... he's adjusted really well the last year or so to everything else, but he just refuses to budge on two really simple things.

Gurriel at 1st? Strange, but glad to see him back regardless.

Not gonna be able to watch much of this one with the Leafs game. But gonna catch what I can.

Jays really pissed me off last night and I f’n hate the Rays. Hope that team relocates to a city that is not Montreal. I’m still steaming so I’m not watching tonight’s game but this is too positive not to share;

Vladdy is also leading the entire majors (position players and pitchers) in fWAR.

Just go have a shower, and all will be well.

Semian is going to get himself a fat contract in the winter at the rate he's going.

Honestly wouldn't mind to bring him back. Guy can play multiple positions, has solid defense and can bring some pop to the lineup.

Might even be able to bring him back since I'm sure revenue being screwed up by the pandemic might suppress the money given out a bit

He's just starting because McClanahan is a lefty. Before Panik got injured Charlie was platooning them. Whether it makes sense or not(It doesn't) expect to see Panik in there if the other team has a righty starting.

Yeah, but I still expected Panik in as soon as he was available regardless of matchup.

Kloff very wild tonight. Leaves after 3 innings and change, 4 walks, 6 hits, 1 K, 6 runs and counting(2 guys on base as he left)

Our management right now:

I turned it off after they walked the second batter in the 9th. I was like i've seen this exact same episode 3 days in a row, don't need to see it again.

The bullpen is starting to spring a leak and i don't like it. And outside of just hoping you get some reinforcements off the DL i'm not sure there's much you can do to fix the problem.

With Stripling starting tomorrow (lol because of course) i'm not sure it gets much better. Losing 5 in a row going into a series with the Yankees is far from ideal to say the least.

Edit: At the very least call up Manoah so you're not outright conceding two out of every five games with Stripling/Kay

say what you want but in the end this is year 2 of the torched earth rebuild. i kind of don't want to include last year due to the gong show but still even then 2.5. if we do stumble we have lots of capital to gain from

i think expectations of our rotation and pen went up . but they are really where most of us figured they would be, hovering a few games above 500. Missing a key cog in springer. prospects haven't quite been ready for big time.

right now making a move is going to be costly and its the issues that everyone knew we were going to have until our young arms start making it up

can I be the voice of positivity?

theyre losing games and it stinks.. but theyre also pitching #13-20 type relievers... What were we to expect?

Yeah, people overreact to short stretches of poor play in baseball. And most of these recent losses have been good games until the bullpen imploded in the late innings, which, as you pointed out, should probably have been expected eventually with all the injuries.

That's not to say "Everything is fine". The bullpen in particular needs some help right now, and hopefully another starter comes along soon (whether that's Pearson or Manoah or a trade).
