If we're going to have the voice of positivity I want to be the corresponding voice of rationality:

A week ago most people agreed that Manoah shouldn't be rushed up to the majors before proving he can handle AAA hitters consistently.

nothing has changed since then.

The fact that the Jays are struggling does not make it a better idea or more necessary to call him up now. He'll be ready when he's ready and not a moment before. Acting hastily is only more likely to lead to bad things.

Our management right now:

That’s why they are management. No knee jerk reactions. We’ve had massive injury issues and mostly to the pen. It’s finally started to bleed through. It’s frustrating as hell seeing them blow leads like that and especially to Tampa. Just got to hope they rebound quickly and find that random pen luck again soon. Bats also need to come to life a little more too.

I would support giving him a start soon, at least in part because he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who's going to fall apart or lose his confidence if it goes poorly.

I think he's ready. I don't mind leaving him down to get a few more starts under his belt, but think he deserves a shot soon, especially as the need continues to grow.

Don't tell this to Stoeten. Feels like every other tweet is a shot at management for not playing Manoah.

I'm indifferent. He'd probably make the rotation better immediately, but I'd rather we take it slow, make sure he keeps it up and have him for the playoff stretch/playoffs. Not to mention it's easier to keep him down to handle his innings than in the majors.

Yeah, there's a whole lot of grey area in a subject so many people like to view as black and white.

Pitching and defence wins. We have one very good starter, one good starter, one average starter and then shit. Bullpen has come down to earth with these no name losers. Not a surprise. They aren’t close to being a true contender.

We will contend when the next wave of young players Come up. Next year should be the start of contending.

the injuries are catching up to the team now. This was a 85-90 win team that is being dragged down by injuries right now. Next year should be a 90-100 win team with some decent luck.

It's frustrating when you look at 1 thru 5 on each of these teams. Arozarena, Meadows, Margot, Choi, Lowe, etc. We have Semien, Bichette, Vladdy, Teo and Grichuk. Guys like Gurriel can't even get in the top 5, and that's all with Biggio and Springer both hurt.

And then you watch the team get shot by the Rays, but I think these teams are closer than they appeared this weekend. Need to improve bullpen and starters and hopefully left side of the infield defense somehow.

I still don't get how this Rays offense has been so good recently, but they're doing it as a group with no exceptional performances.

Their pitching sucks. Every team gets injuries. Pearson was an unknown regardless. Besides him we are missing Merryweather out of the pen. If we can’t overcome those guys on the pitching side of things, the pitching is garbage.

Go to the world series, trade your best player away, trade your shortstop and then win 11 straight and be atop the AL East. Rinse and repeat. Doing it for years since the Archer theft and doing it well.

Merryweather, Borucki, Phelps, and Hatch is a pretty huge chunk of the pen if you ask me.

And they have the best prospect in baseball due up soon along with another top 20 guy in Brujan

They will continue to be a pain for years to come.
